Quote of the Week. . .

Food for Thought. . .
Another wonderful reflection prior to our recent vestry meeting.  Sue Rutz's words are worth the read.  Thank you, Sue, and thank you all. . .

Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got. Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.
Wouldn't you like to get away? Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came. You wanna be where you can see, our troubles are all the same You wanna be where everybody knows your name.
You wanna go where people know, people are all the same,
You wanna go where everybody knows your name.

Many of you recognize this as the theme song from the TV show "Cheers." I like the song (aren't you glad I didn't sing it?!). It makes me smile and reminds me of the comfort of being with others. Others who remind me that our troubles are all the same. Others that know people have more in common and less differences. Others who are always glad to see me.
My reflection tonight is on the comfort of the St Francis community; the familiarity, the acceptance, the ability to be lifted in spirit and surrounded by friends.  To read more, click here. . .
Link of the Week. . .

A little fun with an old movie.  Rowan Atkinson's portrayal of the priest at one of the weddings in Four Weddings and a Funeral is classic. . .

For Further Reflection. . .
A ranging interview with the Episcopal Church USA Presiding Bishop Michael Curry.  It is an excellent introduction to his theology and the Episcopal Church's part in the Jesus Movement.
