St. Francis Weekly

May 28 - June 3, 2025

Embodying God's love by building community through worship, inclusivity, and outreach.

Hello, Friends of St Francis!

As mentioned in the announcements at the 8:00 service, St Francis is small but mighty; we do a lot, we give a lot, and we receive a lot in return!

Annual Picnic

June 1 is right around the corner! Join us for one of our favorite community activities. Here's the sign-up sheet to contribute to our picnic. Sign-up

Undie Sunday

We’re teaming up with the Interfaith Social Ministry Collaborative to support St. Andrew’s Undie Sunday by collecting new underwear, socks, t-shirts and other items. Please bring donated items to the bin in front of the Church by June 8. To make a cash contribution, contact Patricia L and she’ll shop for you: Patricia.ann.lydon@gmail.com or 203.253.7741. For more info, click Flyer. For suggested items, click List.

Local nonprofits (Pacific House, Inspirica, etc) will "shop" for their clients on June 15.

Dignity Grows Project

Join St. Francis and five other faith communities on Thursday, June 12 at 6:30 PM at Temple Sinai, 458 Lakeside Dr, Stamford. We'll make sandwiches for New Covenant Center and pack 500 hygiene bags for those in need. Light snacks and social time too. For ways to help, click Dignity Grows Flyer

Collection for Edrice's St. Kitts Schoolchildren

During the month of June, we will be collecting donations to support our former Deacon, Edrice Viechweg, in her work with students in her home country of St. Kitts and Nevis. Your generous contributions will help provide school uniforms, shoes, and supplies to children in need.

Donations can be made online or by check through June 30. Please be sure to write "St. Kitts schoolchildren" in the memo line of your check or in the note/memo field when donating online to ensure your gift is directed properly.

Mid-Week Meditation

Last week Bishop Budde facilitated an interesting conversation with Tim Shriver regarding the role of dignity in public life. This discussion brought faith, education and public leadership into dialogue to lessen polarization and find hope for our democracy. Watch here

Photos of the Week

Thanks so much to all of our tremendous altar guild members and flower arrangers who prepare and beautify our churches. Our wonderful LEVs bring St. Francis to our friends, such as Nolda, who cannot attend our services but still remain an important part of our parish. We enjoyed a well attended 8:00 service with Dom and Anthony helping out!
