Remembering Bill Boorman, former St. Gabriel Teacher
July 2, 1934 - February 4, 2025
Mr. Boorman, as his students called him, began teaching 6th grade at St. Gabriel School in 1979. He spent 14 wonderful years teaching in 6B before leaving the SG community in 1993.
As recently as last month, alumni parents shared memories of being in Mr. Boorman's class. Many described him as being strict because of his navy background, but that was quickly followed up with how much the students respected him and thought of him as a fantastic teacher. Mr. Boorman was demanding of his students yet the emphasis was always to learn in a positive environment. To still be brought up in conversation 30 years later is a testament to the lasting impact Mr. Boorman had on his students.
Our condolences go out to Bill's family and friends. Mr. Boorman will always be remembered for his wonderful rapport with students, staff members and parents. He actively participated in school events and made sure his classroom environment was a good climate for learning. His dedication to teaching will be remembered for many years to come.
