Remembering Marta Courtright, former St. Gabriel Teacher and mother of Christina '90
August 20, 1940 - October 31, 2024
Mrs. Courtright, as her nearly 1,000 students called her, began teaching 1st grade at St. Gabriel School in 1977. She retired in 2015 after a 38 year career in classroom 1B, shaping the young lives of eager students.
As vice principal of the lower grades, she always had a pulse on the activities of the primary students and never hesitated to make her love for her current and former students known. Alumni spanning a few decades never missed a chance to stop by her classroom to say hello whenever they'd visit campus. She knew how to make you feel special and remembered.
Our condolences go out to Marta's family and friends. Mrs. Courtright was and always will be a St. Gabriel treasure. Her passion for teaching and the love she shared will live on in our hearts and memories. Gifts to St. Gabriel School in Marta's memory will support our Memorial Fund. All are welcome to share a memory on the Tribute Wall of her online obituary page.

On November 1 we celebrated All Saints Day as a school community! Fr. Tom Martin visited from St. Pius Church to say Mass which was very special. 1st grade did a terrific job planning the mass and demonstrating their knowledge of the saints. Thank you to the parents, alumni and parishioners who came to celebrate this mass with us!
In honor of All Souls Day, Spanish classes built beautiful altars to honor our deceased loved ones as part of Dia De Los Muertos celebrations.
