Student & Community News & Events, For You!

Reading Rally Recap

This year, we replaced our World's Finest Chocolate sale fundraiser with the Reading Rally. What better way to raise money for our school than to exercise our minds!

Mrs. Beal promised the students that she'd take part in an Ice Bucket Challenge if they reached 75% participation in the Reading Rally. Well, they surpassed the goal!!!

Click photos to enlarge

She was also seen "slothing" around school when the students hit 50% a couple weeks ago. The fundraiser raised almost $70,000!! Great job reading and raising essential funds for our school!

Feast of St. Gabriel the Archangel

On September 30 we celebrated the Feast of St. Gabriel as a school community! It also marked the first all-school mass with Fr. Andrew Spyrow. 4th grade did a terrific job planning the mass and it was great to see our 8th grade altar servers in action.

Thank you to the parents, alumni and parishioners who came to celebrate our feast day with us!

T-ING UP HOPE for hurricane victims

On October 17 our 8th graders led a one day fundraiser to raise necessary funds for hurricane victims. Students were encouraged to donate $1 and could wear their favorite t-shirt to school that day. Even though our student body is 518 students, over $1300 was raised!

Well done SG students!
