| | Collection taken on Saturday to help Venezuelan earthquake victims | | |
A collection taken during the July 11 gathering to watch and to celebrate the consecration of Bishop-elect Antonio Gallardo will be designated to aid victims of devastating earthquakes in Venezuela, where Gallardo was born.
The death toll has reached more than 3,500 with many more displaced. The funds will be sent to Episcopal Relief and Development, the church's disaster relief agency, to aid the people of Venezuela.

The Parking Lot has been paved!
It will be sealed in a few weeks.

for facilitating this much-needed improvement.

We still have funds to raise.
We were able to pave the lot by obtaining a short-term loan from the Episcopal Credit Union, which must be repaid.

Paving Pathways: Fund for the Future
Thank you to all who have pledged and made payments.
Our goal for the Fund for the Future was $200,000.
Your generosity allowed us to meet our October 31, 2025 deadline on our taxes.
We are now current with our tax bill.
If you have not pledged to the Fund for the Future yet, we ask that you consider a one-time gift of $1000 - $3000. Any amount you can give will be appreciated.
Payments may be made any time through December 2027.
Paving the parking lot will cost about $72,000, including striping.
Replenishing cash reserves will need about $60,000-65,000.
Pledged to date: 47 pledges for a total of $158,060
Remaining to reach our goal: 41,940

Financials:
Mark Szen has resigned as chair of the Finance Committee. This role will be transitioned to Terry. Committee thanked Mark for his oversight of St. George’s financial health.
Terry highlighted certain areas that need watching:
* Pledge receipts and Carlota’s Great Hall are behind budget both for the month and ytd;
* Cleaning/supplies are also over budget for the year;
* total expenses remain in control and are below budget for the month and year to date.
Employee Handbook – Terry had distributed a draft employee handbook and feedback is in process. He will incorporate changes and resend out for approval prior to the August meeting.
Emergency Preparedness Manual – Raquel will finalize and resend out for approval prior to the August meeting.
Transition – We will use Holy Cow Consulting to do a church survey. We will be allowed 5 additional questions to add to their questions. This will be finalized at our July12 meeting.
There will be a special meeting of the Bishop's Committee on Sunday, July 12, devoted to planning for the upcoming transition with Rev. Pat.
Bishop Antonio Gallardo Lucena will make an official visitation to St. George's on Sunday, Nov. 29, which is the first Sunday in Advent.
Rev Pat asked for continued prayers for everyone on the church prayer list. She also requested participation in the July 11 Watch Party hosted at St. George's. The consecration will be live-streamed and Deanery 10 congregations are all invited. There will be hospitality.
Facilities – Futaba Preschool is moving and Merry Hive will take over their space. Facilities will be working on the school spaces (Pathway, Merry Hive) over the summer to prepare for the fall semester.

On the first Thursday of each month from June through November, The Episcopal Church's Public Policy and Witness team will host a series of “Vote Faithfully” calls to support voter engagement in ways consistent with Episcopal values.
During the calls, hosts will share resources and ideas to help congregations promote voting and civic participation while remaining nonpartisan (avoiding support for specific political parties, candidates, or platforms).
The first call, on June 4, will feature Kent Anker, chief legal officer of The Episcopal Church, speaking about compliance with IRS rules regarding election engagement by religious organizations.
Speak out for those who cannot speak, for the rights of all the destitute. Speak out, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy.

MEMBERSHIP
This very structured Music Ministry program welcomes new members who have some musical background, can “carry a tune”, work as a team, and be available to commit to regular, weekly attendance.
CHOIR SEASON begins mid-September and ends mid-June.
REHEARSALS are held Sunday mornings from 8:30 to 9:45am, followed by 10am Eucharist, which ends by 11:30am.
We also are committed to providing liturgical music for Christmas Eve, and all liturgies of Holy Week.
And we participate in our neighborhood’s interfaith choral presentations.
FINANCIAL SUPPORT
Our choir always benefits from the generous support of
“FRIENDS OF MUSIC”.
As with most parish activities, Music Ministry requires funding.

The FBI recently issued a reminder to be alert to communications that ask you to “act fast, pay money, or turn over personal information.” What is particularly important to remember this year is the ways artificial intelligence allows scammers to create "fake social media profiles, voice clones, identification documents, and videos with believable depictions of public figures or even loved ones."
Always verify information independently before responding to unsolicited donation requests. If you have questions about an email you have received:

- Look out for misspelled words and incorrect grammar
- Do not click on any suspicious links or attachments
- Report the email as spam
