We have been looking forward the youth drama production of “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe,” and now it is finally here. This year’s production will be held ‘in the round’ in Patterson Auditorium. Because of this, seating will be limited. To help facilitate this, we will have three shows, each of which you can reserve a seat online. There is no charge to attend this production. That being said, we will provide an opportunity during the event to make donations that help to continue the St. Giles Youth Drama Program.

Oviedo Mission Night - May 5

This past Sunday we got to hear from Marco and Nohemi Oviedo during the Minute for Mission. Marco and Nohemi serve St. Giles in multiple ways, especially in working with our youth (Nohemi) and leading us in worship (Marco). However, they are 30 year veterans of being missionaries with YWAM!! They have served in Central America, Sweden, and now in Richmond, VA. As mentioned during their talk, YWAM Richmond will be hosting a special evening (free dinner included!) to come out and hear more about the ministry of the Oviedo family and also learn how we can serve and partner with them. If you would like to attend, please RSVP at the following link.

First Thursday Book Club

A morning of inspiration will occur for regular book club members and newcomers on Thursday, May 1st at 10 AM in the St. Giles parlor. At this special time, Robert Wright will facilitate a creative presentation featuring the articles and presentation of the gospel from the lips of Billy Graham who came to Richmond during his 1956 crusade. Local churchgoers including St. Gileans attended these nightly crusade revival sermons.

Part of Robert's goal for his presentation is to review the Richmond crusade materials and to hear excerpts of the opening revival speech held on April 29, 1956, the context of the before and after of the Richmond crusade will be featured. Invite a friend as revival fires of remembrance are rekindled during Robert Wright’s uplifting sharing. Lunch will follow the meeting for those whose schedules allow.

Please join us for a Community Relationship Building Walk on May 17th, 12:00PM – 2:00PM in Highland Park. We did not have a prayer tent set up for the April walk but would like to set one up for this May walk so we also need people to man the tent to pray for the community, city, and those who come to the Prayer Tent.

The purpose of the walk is to set community members up to get wellness check-ins. We need to meet people where they are, not wait for them to come to us. The best way to fight the violence and mentality that cause crime, homicides, depression, loneliness, anger, and other issues is to catch it early, before things get so bad that they are detrimental. Plus, the people who make the check-in calls have opportunities to pray for them in very pointed ways. Showing Jesus in us is the best way to introduce Him to others. Below is the link to sign up for the walk or call Jo White at (804) 937-6836.
