Contemporary Service at 11:00 in Patterson

GETTY CONCERT -
Reserve tickets this week!
Sunday, Oct. 2 at 6:00pm Keith and Kristyn Getty will be performing at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. This will be part of their “Christ Our Hope in Life & Death Tour” and you can find more info here

They are giving block seating deals for churches, so we are going to get a block of seats for anyone who would like to attend. We are looking at the Midsection tickets, which will run around $40, give or take, based on our numbers. If you would like us to reserve you a ticket, please let Rachel Jiral know (rachel@stgiles.org) by this Friday, Sept. 23, 12:00pm. Our hopes are to purchase tickets before they sell out, so we apologize for the quick timeframe. If you have any questions please contact Josh at josh@stgiles.org.

This Sunday evening at 6:30 we will have our Heart Song worship service led by Josh and Rebecca. We will continue growing in Harp & Bowl worship together during this time.
Adult Discipleship
Adult Sunday School Update
The 9:30 Sunday School is morphing into a life group. We will read and discuss the Marinates that Pastor Josh sends out on Saturday. By doing this prior to the service we will hopefully have some insights into the passage that he is preaching on for our service that Sunday. We will also share prayer needs and pray for each other. Our hope will be to be disciples to one another and experience community.

STEP has three upcoming volunteer needs this fall:

Victory Reading Tutor

STEP's Victory Reading program equips children with academic, spiritual, and relational competencies to navigate their lives with confidence and hope. Each afternoon, tutors meet with children to read a Bible story, teach reading skills, and help with homework. The program begins September 19th and will run Monday-Thursday from 3:45-5:45 at the Calhoun Family Investment Center, 436 Calhoun Street. Tutors typically commit to one day each week. To apply visit https://www.steprichmond.org/volunteer-children.

Jobs for Life Mentor

Join STEP this fall for a transformative time of building relationships and lifting others up! Jobs for Life is a twelve-week program surrounding public housing residents with a family of mentors, instructors, class leaders, and fellow students. Mentors are needed to provide encouragement and accountability as the students overcome roadblocks, define career goals, and improve their resume and interviewing skills.

Mentors commit to Tuesday evenings for twelve weeks, beginning with Mentor Orientation on Tuesday, September 20th from 6 to 8pm. To join Jobs for Life as a mentor, please apply here: https://www.steprichmond.org/volunteer-adults

Elevate Mentor Teams

Picking up at the completion of Jobs for Life, Elevate establishes mentoring teams around Jobs for Life graduates with the goal of providing fellowship, instruction, and ongoing support as they overcome roadblocks and reach their vocational goals. This is a wonderful opportunity to involve your whole family in ministry (children included) or your entire small group to support a graduate and their family! Elevate is a monthly Thursday evening commitment beginning September 15th 6-8:30 pm. Sign up here: https://www.steprichmond.org/volunteer-adults
