This Sunday we will have a celebration of Art Thomas' recently published history of St. Giles! A free copy (one per family) of each of the first two volumes will be available for St. Giles' Covenant Partners (the third volume is still in production).
Following our usual 10:30 AM worship, we’ll enjoy a light lunch in Patterson. Remember, please, to bring a GENEROUS platter of finger food to share (sandwiches, ham biscuits, fruit or vegetable tray, cheese & crackers, cookies, etc.), as we will have many out-of-town guests with us! Contact Jo White to let her know you can bring food: 804- 937-6836 or joeloisewhite@gmail.com
We'll move back to the sanctuary at 12:45 for short talks given by Art Thomas and descendants of Blanton Belk, Earl Morey, and Louis Skidmore.
Besides bringing food, there are other ways you can help!
- A few people are needed to help with setup before worship,
- A few people are needed to direct interested folks to the History Room, where Melissa Sleeth will give overviews of the church's history during the lunch hour.
- All of us can be good hosts by encouraging people back to the sanctuary after lunch, so that the program can begin promptly at 12:45!
Art Thomas will sign books. People can bring books they have already purchased to be signed and he will have books to sell to those who are not members or those who want an extra copy.
Art has given us a wonderful gift through this labor of love. Invite your friends, and enjoy the celebration!
