Walk-A-Thon for Catholic Education
|
The entire student body participated in the 2016 Walk-a-thon for Catholic Education on Friday, October 14, 2016.
Mr. Birmingham led the walk by riding his bicycle, parents walked with their students and volunteers served as crossing guards as we walked together in support of our Catholic community.
Donations will be used to develop new programs that will continue to enrich the academic experience and prepare students to meet the challenges of the future.

Kitchen Kapers is sponsored by CYO and is a cooking contest for all 6, 7 and 8th grade school and CCD students. The students choose a recipe from one of the categories, make the item at home and then bring it to the school to be judged. Prizes are awarded to the top winners in both the boys’ and the girls’ divisions. The top winner in each category is then invited to submit the same item in the county competition.

St. Ignatius Loyola Regional School (SILRS) opened Sept. 6, 1967 for students in grades one through eight. Sister M. Perpetua, member of the School Sisters of Saint Francis, was the school’s first principal. Two expansions have been made to the original school, increasing the total classroom size from eight rooms to its current size of 21 classrooms. A kindergarten was opened in fall 1979. The school provides education for students from pre-K through eighth grade. The school strives to follow the teachings of its patron, St. Ignatius, by doing everything for the “greater honor and glory of God.”
