December 11, 2019 - Anchored in His Love
Kindness - Our Lady of Guadalupe & St. Juan Diego
Dear St. Isidore Families,

“The best way to spread CHRISTMAS CHEER is singing loud for all to hear.”

Nothing brings on the feeling of Christmas more than seeing children of all ages singing holiday songs that have been sung for generations. It truly spreads Christmas cheer and is one of the best reminders of why we send our children to St. Isidore School.
Our school Christmas Concert will be held on Thursday, December 12, at 7:00 p.m. We ask that students arrive at the Cardelli Gym no later than 6:45 p.m. and be dressed in their “Christmas Best” (no jeans, tank tops, etc.). Parents, please be patient and considerate as you enter the gym. There is room for everyone. Also, young children should not be left unattended in the gym. Please make sure a teacher is present before finding your seats. TK and Kindergarten students will stay for the evening concert with their classmates and teacher and will not be dismissed early as has been done in the past. Click here to view the night’s student seating chart. I hope you enjoy the show!

We will have an open dress rehearsal on the day of the concert at 1:00 p.m. for those who would like to attend. The rehearsal is usually less crowded and a great time for grandparents and friends to come and enjoy the show. The Christmas and Spring concerts are mandatory. If, for some reason, your child is unable to attend the show, please email me directly at mward@stisidore.org .

Making Spirits Bright
At St. Isidore School, we believe we are at our best when helping others. The Christmas holiday provides us an opportunity to spread some holiday cheer to those less fortunate in our community. Contributing to the KOC toy drive, donating proceeds from the candy cane sales to the Wheelchair Association, and giving the profit from the Christmas Boutique to our sister school, Lumen Christi Academy, truly adds to our holiday joy. A $1 donation day has been added to the calendar. Students may wear festive sweaters and jeans on Wednesday, December 18. Proceeds will benefit the Wheelchair Association. Thank you for your generosity and love this holiday season.

Staff Update
I am sad to say that one of our beloved librarian assistants, Michelle Miller, will be leaving our school after the Christmas break. Mrs. Miller and her husband are relocating to Montana. Mrs. Miller has worked at SIS for eight years and has touched the hearts of many. She is known for her contagious smile, kind spirit, and love of reading. Students and staff will miss her, but we wish her much happiness and success on her next adventure.

Help spread the word
Word of mouth is the number one way new families hear about our school, making you our best marketing tool. We kindly ask that, as you visit with neighbors and friends over the holiday break, you mention the SIS TK/Kindergarten Informational Open House being held on Friday, January 10, at 10:00 a.m . Your help is always appreciated. Applications for new students for the 2020–2021 school year are now available online.

Next week is a busy week, so please make sure to see the “Holiday Happenings” section below. Have a wonderful rest of the week and enjoy each moment as we inch closer to Christmas and the holiday break.

God bless,

Maria Ward, Principal

PS. The SIS Foundation will be selling Christmas wreaths after tomorrow’s Christmas Concert. All proceeds will benefit SIS Foundation. Thank you for your support.
