Empathy - St. Peter & St. Paul
Dear St. Isidore Families,

“Empathy is seeing with the eyes of another, listening with the ears of another, and feeling with the heart of another.” – Alfred Adler
Throughout September, St. Isidore School will celebrate the monthly gospel value of EMPATHY. Empathy is the experience of understanding another person’s thoughts and feelings. It’s choosing to see another person’s point of view, rather than one’s own. Today’s world is complicated and many feel overwhelmed at times, so choosing to withhold judgment and offer kindness can make a big difference in someone’s day.
Let’s PAR Tee
The annual the SIS Golf Classic on Monday, September 30, is less than a month away! If you are yet to register, now is the time. We hope that if you are not participating in golf or tennis, you will join us for dinner. It offers an excellent opportunity to mingle with fellow SIS families. Get your tickets now! Registration ends on September 23. C lick here to register. I would like to extend a big thank you to this year’s chairs, Michelle Czarnik and Katie Merritt, for all their hard work and dedication. They have spent countless hours ensuring an amazing event for us all to enjoy.
Challenge Success
SIS will once again be partnering with Stanford’s Challenge Success Program, hoping to help students with coping strategies, communication, and life balance skills. Challenge Success works closely with schools, families, and communities to embrace a broad definition of success and to implement research-based strategies that promote student well-being and engagement with learning. This school year, the staff has chosen to focus on Classroom Mindfulness. Mindfulness is about learning to train your attention to the present moment without dwelling on what has happened in the past or worrying about the future. Teachers will be incorporating different mindfulness techniques into their routine, giving students a chance to develop an understanding and appreciation of health of mind and body. They will also learn about the Catholic Christian faith tradition, including spiritual meditation.

Bingo Night
Unfortunately, Family Bingo Night this Friday, September 6, has been cancelled. Sorry to disappoint everyone who planned to attend. We will reschedule the event and announce a new date soon. Thank you for your flexibility.
God bless,
Maria Ward, Principal

Take Me out to the Book Fair…
It’s time to play ball! Our annual Family Event , “Books and Baseballs,” will be arriving at our ballpark on Friday, September 27 th from 2:50 – 5pm! General Manager Ward has announced that students can wear their favorite baseball jerseys with their uniform bottoms that day! For our veteran middle schoolers, please wear your SIS sweatshirt over the jersey for Mass only. With no PM carpool and free dress passes with book purchases, you’re likely to hit for the cycle!
Our family event puts you in the ideal position to rally and knock those classroom libraries out of the ballpark. The teachers feel like hall of famers when books land in their classrooms. We don’t want them to miss a pitch! Score with reading!

SIS Family Highlight
St. Isidore School loves welcoming new families into our community! We are thrilled to have over 40 new families starting school this year. If you see a new face on campus, please take a moment to introduce yourself.

Welcome Holquin Family (David, Danielle, Jackson, and Sloane) to the SIS Community! Jackson (4 th - Mrs. Trujillo) and Sloane (K-Ms. Camenson) previously went to school in San Jose where Danielle has worked for over 15 years. They have been residents of San Ramon since 2006—the halfway point between Danielle’s work in San Jose and David’s in Napa. The Holquin family loves college football (especially cheering on the Fightin’ Irish), the Giants and Warriors. Jackson has an affinity for trains, planes, and sports, and Sloane loves animals, ponies, and the Girl Scouts. The Holquin family can’t wait to get to know more SIS families. Go Bulldogs!
Random Acts of Kindness
Random acts of kindness are deliberate attempts to brighten another person's day by doing something thoughtful, nice, and caring. Go out and spread kindness SIS. Please let the office know if you do or witness a RAOK.
Kindness matters: 6th grader, Nicholas Parker has been spotted multiple times opening the office door for teachers as they arrive to school. His kindness warms our hearts and brightens our day.

Adopt-a-Doll Program: American Girl Doll Seeking New Home!
Is your special American Girl doll hidden away in a closet or garage, collecting dust and taking up space? I can help her find a new home by adopting her out to a child who is currently receiving long-term treatment at Oakland Children's Hospital.

My name is Lauren Rivera and I graduated from St. Isidore in 2017. I loved playing with American Girl dolls when I was younger. I recently started Adopt-a-Doll in order to share this happiness with young girls who are experiencing a very difficult time in their lives and would be thrilled with the idea of loving and caring for an American Girl doll. If you have a doll that you would like to donate, please contact me at  to arrange for an adoption. Thank you for your help!
