January 22, 2020 - Anchored in His Love
Faith - St. John of the Cross & St. Teresa of Avila
Dear St. Isidore School Families,

Catholic School Week, one of my favorite weeks of the year, is right around the corner. The week offers an opportunity to celebrate together our faith, community, and Catholic education. Much has changed in Catholic schools since I wore a uniform, but much remains the same. Catholic schools encourage students to live their faith and reach their full academic potential. I am proud of our rich history, and believe the future offers great things.

The faculty and staff are hard at work preparing for the week’s events. The observance kicks off Sunday, January 26, after the 9:00 a.m. Mass. Students are encouraged to come to Mass in full uniform and will receive a free dress pass for doing so (just make sure they check in at the office and put their name on the free dress list). After Mass, the school is open for Sneak-A-Peek. It’s an exciting opportunity to show off to our parishioners and potential new families what our students are learning and what they have accomplished. I invite you to bring your friends and neighbors, particularly those who may be considering a Catholic education for their children. Click here or scroll down to view the week’s agenda. I am excited to announce that a Taco Truck and Pizza Guys will once again be available on Thursday evenings at the Open House Event starting at 4:30 p.m .
I encourage you to come for dinner, mingle with friends, and check out our new SIS Spiritwear prior to the doors opening at 6 p.m.

Give to the Gala—Please Support Classroom Donations!
The planning for this year’s auction is in full force! Your support is needed to ensure the success of the school’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Please help us secure the class donations listed here by donating to your class donation fund. We are asking for $30 per student, but if you are able to give more, please do. Click here to donate, or submit a check to the front office or to your classroom teacher. Further information on class funds can be found in today’s Family Envelope. Please have donations in by Wednesday, January 29 . As always, we are incredibly grateful for your support and generosity.

Progress Reports
Progress reports will be sent home today for grades TK–4; grades 5–8 will bring home a progress report form. Depending on the grade, please return either the signed progress report or the orange form tomorrow . Progress reports allow parents the opportunity to check in with their children and see how they are doing in each area. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher.

A Trip Back in Time
Our fifth-graders had a wonderful time at Colonial Days last week! They spent their morning practicing tin art, quill writing, cross-stitch, and other activities from that era. We want to thank the teachers and the many volunteers who came to help. A special thank-you to Mrs. Anne Angstenberger and Mrs. Michelle Estabrook for their hard work and dedication, ensuring a fun day of learning for all!

I look forward to seeing you at next week’s events and celebrating together with our awesome school and fabulous community. Have a great rest of the week!

God bless,
Maria Ward, Principal
