February 19, 2020 - Anchored in His Love
Love - St. Monica & St. Teresa of Avila
Dear St. Isidore School Families,

We are Family
At St. Isidore School, we believe that the foundation for a strong community is laid within the walls of our school. One of my favorite ways this occurs is through the tradition of Faith Families. A Faith Family is a collection of small student groups from various grade levels sharing the word of God. The heartwarming bond between students strengthens throughout the school year as, together, they develop a better understanding of what it means to put our Catholic faith into practice. During this week’s Faith Family activity, students will receive Miraculous Medals donated by the diocese. Father G will be on campus to bless our medals while sharing a special story about them. Teachers will send each child home with his or her medal and an information pamphlet on Friday.
Tomorrow night is our annual STEAM Night . This family-friendly event, themed around the Ocean, offers activities for the whole family, an art show, and the opportunity for your child to win raffle prizes. Today is the last day to RSVP: click here . A big thank you to our STEAM Team: Mrs. Bowes, Mrs. Castillo, Mr. Darnell, Mrs. Gilchrist,
Mrs. Koskowich, Ms. Jaskot and Ms. Moore. I appreciate their support in providing our community with a fun educational event.

SIS Family Highlight
Welcome Murphy Family! The Murphy family has been part of
St. Isidore community since 2009 when Mike & Kara went through RCIA. Since both grew up in public schools, and their oldest, Jack, was already in elementary school at the time, they continued with this route and, also chose it for their youngest, Grace. Grace, now 11, decided she wanted a Catholic Education. She is so excited to join Miss Lettire's 5th grade class. Jack, 16, is a sophomore at SRV. Mike is an Ear Nose & Throat surgeon for Diablo Valley ENT, and Kara is a stay at home mom. As you can see, the Murphys are 49er fans! They also enjoy traveling, skiing, and playing golf as a family. Grace dances for Next Step, plays Scorpion Lacrosse, and PGA Jr. Golf, while Jack also golfs competitively. The Murphys look forward to getting involved in the St. Isidore School community! If you see them campus please take a moment to introduce yourself.
Random Acts of Kindness
Random acts of kindness are deliberate attempts to brighten another person's day by doing something thoughtful, nice, and caring. Go out and spread kindness, SIS! Please let the office know if you do or witness a RAOK.
We felt the LOVE! Thank you to our amazing Hospitality Team for filling our staff lounge with delicious treats! We enjoyed the cookies, candy and cupcakes. As always the staff appreciated the generosity and love.

Parish News & Notes
Fall Festival 2020! It might seem early, but it’s never too early to plan a party! St. Isidore Parish is looking for a few more folks to help in planning and implementing the 2020 Parish Fall Fest (tentatively Oct. 4th). We are looking for marketing and “idea“ folks. So, if you are new OR old to the parish and want to get more involved, this is a great way to start. Our next meeting is March 4th! Contact Susan Kelly at 5cakellys@gmail.com with questions or even just suggestions. Thanks!!
Girl Scout News
It’s Girl Scout Cookie Time! The St. Isidore Girl Scout troops will be selling cookies after Mass on the weekend of February 22-23rd. Please support our girls and buy cookies! Donating cookies to the local food bank or military troops is a great option too! Can’t wait for cookies? Contact Melissa at rickmelissa@comcast.com or Susan at 5cakellys@gmail.com.
Challenge Success Tip of the Week
Tip of the week: Fight the temptation to bring your child’s forgotten homework to school. Kids gain resilience by learning from small failures.
Scrip News... Click here to order! New to scrip? Here's the scoop on this awesome program! In a nutshell, Scrip fundraising is a no-selling program that enables families to raise money for our school. Scrip is just another way to pay for everyday purchases using gift cards in place of cash, checks, and credit cards. It's just that easy!!!

Start your spring cleaning early! Stock up on Safeway, Target and Amazon. Treat yourself to a night out with Fleming's or California Pizza Kitchen. Whatever is on the agenda, Scrip can help. Thank you for your support.
