November 14, 2018 - Walking Together in Faith
Grace - St. Francis of Assisi
Dear St. Isidore Families,

Count Your Blessings
In light of the many tragic events that have taken place in California over the last few weeks, it evident that we have much to be THANKFUL for this holiday season. It is heartbreaking to see so many families across our state displaced, suffering, and in need of assistance. To support those in need, we are collecting donations for the Butte County fire victims. You can help by providing water, canned goods, Scrip donations, or money. Please make monetary contributions payable to SIS, and the total amount will be presented to the American Red Cross. The SIS community is truly at its best when helping others; it’s the heart and soul of who we are. I feel truly BLESSED to be part of this community and am GRATEFUL for each and every one of you.

Report Cards Go Home Today
First Trimester Report Cards go home today. It’s important to review them with your children. Think of a report card as a conversation starter, a way for children to talk about how they’re doing, what’s easy or difficult for them, and how you can help them do better. Report cards need to be signed and returned by Thursday, November 15 (tomorrow) . Star testing results will be included in your child's report card envelope. Not all Star tests have been completed, but they will be completed by Friday. If you do not receive a report, it will be sent home by Friday.

#Giving Tuesday
St. Isidore School is honored once again to participate in #GIVINGTUESDAY , a global movement to celebrate giving and inspire personal philanthropy. Your donation will assist in our continued effort to provide competitive salaries and professional development opportunities for our staff, strengthening our specialty programs for our students and ongoing campus updates. We are excited to announce that an anonymous donor has generously offered to match donations up to the amount of $25,000 through to the end of the day! Please know that any donation, large or small, is extremely appreciated.

Sip & Shop
If you have not yet purchased your Sip & Shop Holiday Market ticket, now is the time! This fabulous event is the perfect opportunity to mingle, shop, and celebrate the season. This event is truly “the more the merrier,” so please invite friends and neighbors. Click here to purchase your ticket.

Uniform Modification for Cold Weather
As you have noticed, the cold weather has begun. To keep students warm and comfortable at school, we will be implementing the winter uniform modification after Thanksgiving break. (No shorts for grades TK–5.)
1.  Boys in grades TK–5 are to wear long pants ONLY!
2.  Girls in grades TK–8 can wear tights or leggings under jumpers and skirts.
We appreciate your support in adhering to the uniform policy.

Calendar Change
Monday, December 17, has been switched to a 12pm DISMISSAL to accommodate the christmas party for our faculty and staff. There will be NO KIDS KONNECTION available that afternoon and CARPOOL WILL BE WALK IN–PICK UP .  This annual celebration gives the staff an opportunity to celebrate together the joy of Christmas. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and truly appreciate your flexibility and understanding.

Please join us this Friday, November 16, for an all-school mass at 8:10am. It is a wonderful way for us to celebrate together before the holiday break. A very Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

God bless,

Maria Ward

Scrip
Scrip News...
Are you heading out of town and hitting the road for the Thanksgiving break?
If so, In-N-Out and Chipotle SCRIP are a must for you. A few Starbucks and Peet’s cards are great to have on hand for that trip away too! We know that our school families love Disneyland. Plan your visit to the happiest place on earth a little easier with our Disney $25 and $100 SCRIP cards. Movies are another wonderful way to enjoy family entertainment or a date night out. This time of year there is so much to see and if you have been waiting for the new Fantastic Beasts out this weekend or Creed and Ralph Breaks the Internet out next week, order Regal and Cinemark SCRIP, and all you need is popcorn. We know how much cooking happens this time of year, whether you are hosting or a guest. Lunardi’s, Sprouts, Smart-N-Final, Safeway and Whole Foods are great places to stock up for holiday cooking.

This week we will not accept Special Orders for delivery next week because the school will be closed for Thanksgiving Week . Thank you St. Isidore families for remembering those in need over the holidays. At Scrip, we support Loaves and Fishes through Soup Kitchen donations and St. Isidore Church's Adopt-A-Family Program. All donations no matter how big or small have made a difference in someone's life. Scrip will continue to collect these donations over the holidays so please use Scrip forms for your holiday giving. Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving! Scrip Order Form.
