October 17, 2018 - Walking Together in Faith
Peace - St. Francis of Assisi
Dear St. Isidore Families,

Let Go and Let God
We continue to explore October’s Gospel Value: Peace. Peace of mind is something we all strive for, but today’s fast-paced world can feel overwhelming and stressful at times. As parents, we are faced with challenges and pressures, and we make critical decisions and important changes when need be. We do our best in every situation, and sometimes things work out great. Unfortunately, life doesn’t always cooperate, and there are moments of failure and disappointment. In those moments, I urge you to “Let Go and Let God.” For me, this means trusting God’s plan and believing he has put me right where I need to be. Knowing and trusting in God’s love helps us live with peace, strength, and grace.

Carpool Update
Thank you for adapting to this week’s carpool changes. Your cooperation allows me the opportunity to take a close look at the procedure and see what’s working and what’s not. SIS carpool is complicated, and there are many factors to consider, but as always, the safety of the students, families, and staff is my top priority. My goal is to find a solution that works well for everyone; until then, I ask for your patience and understanding. Thank you.

Progress Reports
Progress reports will be sent home today for grades TK–3; grades 4–8 will bring home a progress report form. Both are to be signed and returned tomorrow. Progress reports allow parents the opportunity to check in with their child and see how they are doing in each area. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher.

Grades for students in grades 4–8 can be viewed in Schoology by going to the student view, clicking on grades at the top of the screen, and then selecting “Grade Report.” You can then click on each course to view grades/comments.

Spread the Word
Refer a friend, family member, or neighbor to this Friday’s TK–8 Open House/Informational Meeting at 10:00am, and you will receive 1 PEP hour. We truly appreciate all referrals. The meeting is a wonderful opportunity for us to meet new families interested in a Catholic education and show them our amazing school. All are welcome!

Staff Update
Resource Specialist Mrs. Sheila Clary has notified us that she is relocating to Virginia. Mrs. Clary has been an asset to St. Isidore School for nineteen years. She has served the school in many capacities, including First Grade Teacher, Jr. High Reading Teacher, and Resource Specialist. We appreciate her many years of service and wish her all the best.

We welcome Mrs. Jenny Barger back to the SIS office team and Mr. Daniel Richardson to middle school math. Mrs. Barger will join the team this year in a new capacity, focusing on school-wide marketing and communications, and Mr. Richardson will be Mrs. Koskowich’s Teachers Assistant. We are excited to have them both on campus.

Challenge Success
Tip of the week: Love your children unconditionally.
The basis for healthy emotional development is a sense of being lovable. Make sure your children know that they are loved for who they are, not only for how well they perform. Value the uniqueness of each child.
