Yesterday we recognized Fr. Candelario for all the contributions he has made to our school community! We will miss him tremendously and wish him the best in his new placement.

Dear St. Isidore School Families,

Many tears were shed yesterday as our school community said goodbye to Fr. Candelario. He has been a wonderful presence on our campus for the past two years. We will hold him in our hearts as he moves on to Brentwood.

The sun is out and so are the umbrellas over the lunch tables! As the temperatures begin to warm up, please be sure to put sunscreen on your child and send them with a refillable water bottle each day. Hats are permitted outdoors if needed. We ask that you remind your child that they are not allowed to stand on the lunch tables and benches nor play with the umbrellas.

Always an exciting afternoon when the 8th-grade class challenges the 7th-grade in a game of basketball. All enjoyed this traditional event as the classes packed the gym to cheer on their favorite grade. This year we even had our former students pay us a visit and relive their fond memories. Oh! Yes the 8th grade took command of the court this year!

The 8th-grade parents were up early this morning to decorate cars for the soon-to-be graduates car parade! This year, Mrs. Downey and I were able to join in the festivities as we each drove our youngest children. Bittersweet fun!

Please keep our 8th-grade students in your prayers as they prepare for the final countdown. Our school looks forward to celebrating the Eucharist with the 8th-grade families next Wednesday at 10:00 AM.

Just a reminder that all Library books are due to be returned by next Tuesday. Check under those beds, in backpacks and cars so you are not assessed a fee.

Monday is Memorial Day and school will not be in session. Enjoy your last three-day weekend of the school year!

In Prayer and Partnership,

Mrs. Carol Bender

EMERGENCY UPDATE

Yesterday, around 1:00 PM, a school-wide lockdown was initiated when a staff member accidentally hit the lockdown button. No students were in danger, and there was no emergency on campus; this was a false alarm. Authorities were not contacted because Administration and the office staff quickly realized that the system was falsely activated. Students and teachers did an excellent job following the safety procedures.
