Dear St. Isidore School Families,
As a Catholic community, we began our Lenten journey yesterday with Ash Wednesday. Our eighth-grade class had the opportunity to assist Fr. Matthew in burning palms beforehand to be used in our school Mass. He spoke to the students about making room for prayer each night during our Lenten season, to become closer to Jesus.
Each year during Lent we are reminded that “goodness, together with love, justice, and solidarity, is not achieved once and for all; they have to be realized each day.” With this in mind, we should continue to pray for peace and solidarity for the people of Ukraine. For those within our school and broader communities, our hearts are with them and their families during this difficult time.
We would love you to join us this coming Sunday, March 6th for 9 AM Mass and Open House from 10 -11 AM. Our students are so proud of showing off their classrooms and hard work.
Fr. Matthew shared in his recent Flock Note communication, the Lenten Parish Mission with the Franciscan Friars will be offered on March 21 - 23 at 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Our hope is that you will be able to attend one of these sessions.
The End of the 2nd Trimester is tomorrow Friday, March 4. Report cards, along with STAR testing and ITBS assessment results will be sent home on Thursday, March 10th. Please remember that these assessments serve as a snapshot as to how each child is performing at a particular point in time. As a staff, we continue to review and assess the data to curtail the level of instruction needed at this time.
We are getting excited for Havana Nights as it is only two weeks away - a well-deserved evening out for all!! Friday, March 11th is the last day to purchase your tickets.
In prayer and partnership,
Mrs. Carol Bender
