Dear People of St. James:
Due to the recent COVID-19 outbreaks around the country, the American Red Cross has had dozens of blood drives around the state cancel, meaning hundreds of units of blood have not been collected. With schools out, this will only get worse and lead to a shortage of blood on hospital shelves at a time where it may be needed the most.
St. James is hosting an emergency blood drive in cooperation with the American Red Cross to help offset this deficit. The Red Cross will be taking extra precautions during this blood drive by screening donors and taking donor temperatures outside of the blood drive area, maintaining appropriate social distance of donors while they wait, and increasing disinfection procedures of all surfaces above and beyond their usual protocols.
Please donate blood if you can and be part of a lifesaving cause. To schedule a time for donation, please click on the link below.
