A Note from Father Rock

Dear Church Family,

Sunday was a wonderful celebration of our parish, with Noland and Chandler Deas being confirmed, Jason and Heather Grande being received, and both Cook children being baptized. Bishop Susan Goff's encouraging words and calming presence was a much-appreciated Advent gift. For all who pitched in to make her time with us so special, many thanks!

We are still gathering and collecting cards and gifts for Kasey's purse in the red collection box outside of the office. She is with us through Friday. We will miss her and her ministry to the parish and wish her nothing but the best in her new work. I am so thankful for her time with us and the gifts she gave to St. James the Less.

In the interim before our next permanent Administrator, Dawn Davis-Baker will be stepping in to help us Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings. Dawn served on our Vestry when I was first coming on board, and knows our parish well as a parishioner. She is the interim while we search for our permanent replacement, and I so appreciate Dawn's flexibility and ability to help the parish out. This is Dawn and her husband Drew...

I do hope you will join us this Sunday for our third Sunday of Advent, Gaudete Sunday, or "Rejoice" Sunday. "Rejoice (Gaudete) in the Lord always". Also, Juile Erickson shares about her trip to the Ukraine in September. It will be directly following the 10 am service.

Sunday at 5 pm is one of my favorite liturgies in our Prayer Book, Choral Evensong. I do hope you will come, and maybe invite a friend or two!

Advent blessings,

Rock+

There is a box in the hallway near the office. We got to meet 3 of their residents and they were super cute!! Please help us support this worthy organization! We will deliver all of the items on December 15th

Hanover ARC- Senior Youth Group

Please join us in collecting gifts for the adults in need with Hanover ARC. We will be collecting gifts over the next week. The lists for specific items are on the youth group bulletin board upstairs near the choir room. The boxes are wrapped and labeled in the hallway for drop off. Please contact Aleta with any additional questions. Thank you for all of your assistance in making a wonderful Christmas for these individuals! Purchased and wrapped items need to be back at St. James by December 22nd.

Sunday, December 8 Recap

The kids spent Children's Church preparing bags for the area pantries with the leftover Santa Shop items. These will be shared to allow those individuals to have the chance to gift items or keep some of the beautiful items that were donated. Also, the Baptism sparked some questions about what God looks like.
