Saint James the Less Weekly News & Updates

From our Sr. Warden, on behalf of the Vestry

The reconciliation process is progressing, and meetings have been scheduled with involved parties. The Diocese is offering pastoral care to all who ask. The Bishop's priority right now is to work with the individuals most affected. This reconciliation process is part of the Agreement, and the Bishop and his team are actively involved and communicating to us when and where appropriate or necessary. We ask for continuing prayers and space and grace, as we navigate this together with love.

Acolytes Wanted!

Every Sunday, we work together to celebrate and worship. We are a liturgical church, and "liturgy" literally means "the work of the people." A big part of that is having folks who assist in the service by carrying the cross, bringing out the Gospel book, gathering the offering, and assisting at the altar. If we have enough, we also have torchbearers lighting the way. Often we have older children and teens helping out. We will soon be holding a training, and would encourage interested parties, no matter your age, to participate as we rebuild our post-COVID ranks of our acolyte team. Let the office know of your interest or your child's interest. First training will be held on May 25th after 10am service.

Dear once and future acolytes (and/or parents)!

Thank you for your willingness to participate in this ministry. I'm new to the role of coordinating this group, so please bear with me!

I don't want to trample on the celebration of graduates on this coming Sunday. But I ask that we meet briefly in the church after the 10:00 service. We need to coordinate time and/or times to "train" and renew procedures for acolytes. The following week is the parish picnic, so that may not be an ideal time (unless we meet between the services at 9:00). So let's pool our collective wisdom to find a time that works for most and we can work with individuals after that.

Thanks, again. And Shalom!

Dr. George Spagna
