Dear Church Family,

This Sunday is Pentecost, the church's birthday, and we have so much to celebrate. Wear red, our annual fun tradition. Red is the liturgical color of the Holy Spirit, used for confirmations, ordinations, and Pentecost. Every year I roll out my red canvas sneakers, very Mr. Rogers, but it is an important reminder. Red for joy. Sneakers to run with the Good News. Sara Reece's painting of said sneakers hangs above the door to my office, as a daily reminder of what I am to be about. How will you celebrate and welcome the Holy Spirit in what you say, and do, and wear?

We will have our service this Sunday, and then we will have a wonderful celebration for families, our Summer Kick-Off Children's Festival. We will have booths and games. There will be food trucks, so fun for kids of all ages. This would be a great event to invite your new neighbors or rustle up your grandkids. May the joy explode!

Sunday night will be a beautiful contemplative service led by the Robbs looking at the work of the Holy Spirit, with a special time for healing prayers and anointing for those that choose it. Paul and Joanne were instrumental when this service first began long before I arrived. I hope you will join us.

Lastly, Becky+ will be away from us the month of June working on her Doctor of Ministry degree. Pray for her as she is off in Sewannee, and we look forward to her return in July.

Blessings, dear friends! And prepare for the "Comforter's" arrival.

There's just one hitch: They must persuade the world's most reclusive rock star, Clay Calloway, to join them. Rosita, Ash, Johnny, Meena and Gunter return with all-new characters, spectacular hit songs and electrifying performances in Sing 2, a comedy about the emotional healing power of music.
