This week, St. James welcomes a new ministry partner in the school, Helping Hand, a unique local nonprofit that serves special needs children in our county. Helping Hand will be phasing into full use of the child-care area over the next several months. We give thanks to our Facility Manager, Teri Smith, who has been instrumental in this transition!
Get texts from St. James! We're trying a new communication tool called Remind. Receive brief texts for important events and updates from St. James. Simply use your cell phone to text the code "@f368b89" to the number 81010. You should receive no more than 1 text a week.

Please keep the Rev. Carol Jablonski in your prayers. Carol+ was our interim rector just a few years ago and helped lead us in the early days of the pandemic. She is receiving palliative and end-of-life care in Asheville.

Worship & Adult Formation
Starting June 18, all worship will be in the Parish Hall. Our weekend services will all take place on Sundays, at 8 a.m. (Rite I), 10 a.m. (Rite II with Choir), and 5 p.m. The Sunday 5 p.m. Eucharist will be an opportunity to experience new and creative liturgies. Click the button below to learn more about our Sunday Summer Evening liturgical series.
|
Join us for one of our Sunday Summer Evenings at St. James. This special summer liturgical series will explore the breadth of Anglican worship in unique and creative ways. On June 25 at 5 p.m., we will use the New Zealand Prayer Book with its evocative and fresh language, influenced by the indigenous people there like the Maori and Pakeha.
Pray Like It's 1776 on Sunday, July 2 at 5 p.m. Did you know the founding of the United States and the founding of The Episcopal Church are inextricably linked? To celebrate Independence Day, considered a Major Feast of the Episcopal Church, we will be praying like our forefathers and mothers did in the wake of the Revolutionary War, with the first American Prayer Book of 1789. Feel free to dress in period costume! Tricorn hats welcome. Historic copies of the Episcopal prayer book from the 1800s will be on display as well.
| There will be no Adult Formation during the summer months and Nave repair. | |
The Wednesday Healing Eucharist and Monday Morning Prayer will continue during the Nave project in the Parish Hall at regularly scheduled times.
Philip Wiehe will be directing a 30 minute sermon drama in August. He needs a cast of 4-6 players who will be expected to learn their lines. Any age from 16 years and up may audition. At least two players need to be agile. Experience helpful, but not necessary. Email Philip at pfwiehe@gmail.com.

Gluten free wafers are available during communion for those with celiac disease or medical issues. You may request this gluten free option at communion from the priest.
Name Tags have moved to the reception area. Name tags play an important role in helping people make connections. Whether you are a long-time member, visitor, or newcomer, please wear yours even if you attend a smaller service. Stick-on name tags for visitors are also available. If you would like a new permanent or replacement tag, complete the request form on the podium. When leaving the parish hall you can find a bowl in which to drop your tag in two places: at the entrance to the hallway leading to the Trinity Room and south entrance and in the reception area, across from the name tag boxes.
