A farewell reception & celebration of the Rev. Christie Walton and her ministry at St. James will be next Sunday, August 27 after the 10 a.m. service. Christie has served St. James for the past eight and a half years. In that time, she has touched countless lives and made her mark on this parish and the Hendersonville community. We give thanks for the work she has done among us and she will, of course, be missed. We are collecting a traditional “purse” for Christie to show the parish’s gratitude and send her off with our love and a monetary blessing. You can contribute by giving online, in the mail, or the offering plate; simply designate your gift “Christie’s Purse”.
You may revisit her letter to the parish by clicking here.

This Sunday, Aug. 20, we welcome back Jenny McConnachie, our medical missionary in South Africa. St. James supports Jenny's work through the Outreach Commission. Join us at 9 a.m. for a Meet & Greet and at 10 a.m. Eucharist to hear a little about her past and ongoing work.
I Spy St. James! Can you? Every Sunday, our parish's patron, St. James, will be on the move to a new location in the parish hall. As the patron of walkers and pilgrims, he's decided to join us on our own pilgrimage to Stillwell Hall for a little fun. Kids and youth, be on the lookout and if you locate him, make sure you tell one of the clergy so they can let you choose a sticker or piece of candy at the altar. If you spy St. James, make sure not to move him so others can find him too!

Thanks from The Storehouse: “Thank you for ALL the food your crew collects for The Storehouse. It’s almost like you know what we need. Everything in your bags is strategic staples. Buy a sticker of Emoji Christoph to support Christoph! Earlier this year, a talented member of our youth group, Juliette Broenner, drew an adorable image of Christoph which is now available to purchase as a sticker. Whether it's on a laptop, water bottle, or notebook, this sticker can remind you to keep Christoph and his family in your prayers during his illness. The stickers are 3" x 3", made out of durable vinyl, and $5 each.
To purchase one, put $5 in the box by his office and take a sticker. Proceeds will go to the Herpel family.
