Autumn Outdoor Labyrinth Walk and Eucharist, Saturday, Nov. 18, at the Broenner Home, 155 Warren Lane.
Experience the ancient prayer practice of walking the labyrinth, a special form of embodied prayer that dates back some 4,000 years. The labyrinth will be open to walk beginning at 10:30 a.m. with an optional program from 1 to 2:30 p.m., followed by time to walk the labyrinth or spend time in prayer outdoors and ending with Eucharist on the grounds at around 3:30 p.m. Reaching the labyrinth requires walking down a relatively steep hill and may pose issues for those with mobility needs. An indoor labyrinth walk is currently being planned for Holy Week.

Soon we will be transforming a section of the North Lawn into an open air Sanctuary Garden Chapel! This park-like setting will be a re-grading and improvement of the north side of the property to allow for more use of this space for weddings, services, funerals, and special religious events.
We are excited to offer the opportunity to contribute to the installation of a grove of redbud and holly trees in dedication to a friend or family member.
For more information or to submit a dedication, click here.

🎁 Calling all elves! 🎁
Santa needs help bringing Christmas joy to children and teens in Henderson County!
As in years past, The Storehouse has worked with every school and countless community agencies to ensure no child has been overlooked, and only those with true need are registered. St James is seeking to sponsor 150+ children this season! We ask that you please email stjamesblessingsinboxes@gmail.com or attend a service to register for your tags this season. Once you have finished collecting your Christmas goodies, you will take them directly to Living Waters Church, the designated collection site, between 12/4-12/6. We believe the impact of this ministry is critically important. If you would like to sponsor a child but do not feel safe being in public, please reach out, we can help. Please note all gifts should be new with tag items; due to regulations The Storehouse is unable to disseminate pre-loved items.

Our food collection in November supports the Interfaith Assistance Ministry (IAM) Holiday Food Drive. We need seasonal food items to help those in need share in the joy of a special Thanksgiving meal in their home. On Nov. 19, we will have a blessing of the cans before delivering the donations. Food received after that will be delivered at the end of the month for use during the December holidays. Pick up a purple “St. James Recycles” bag in the narthex or reception area of the parish hall, and return it filled with any of the following needed items: | |

Stewardship Tip from the Creation Care Ministry: For many, Thanksgiving means a big feast! Some, though, look forward just as much to the day after Thanksgiving. Not for the sales, but for the leftovers! Turkey sandwiches and soup are favorites, of course. Leaning into leftovers is also a way to be a good steward and avoid food waste. Did you know 40% of food is thrown away in our country, between retail, restaurants, and households? So, this year, be a good steward! Enjoy those leftovers! Share with neighbors or friends who have no one to spend the holiday with. After all, after the feeding of the 5,000, Jesus and his disciples even made sure to pick up the baskets and baskets of leftover bread and fish.
