This Sunday! Our Taste of St. James's and Giving Tree Gala Come Together at a New Date & Time

Join us Sunday, Nov. 24, from 10:15 a.m. till 12:30 p.m. in Valentine Hall! Shop for gourmet soups, breakfast casseroles, and baked goods at the Taste of St. James's. You can also select gift "wish lists" from our Christmas Giving Tree.
The Taste is the only source of funding for our Food Force teams. Every week, for decades, they have cooked food for the hungry. And the Giving Tree ministry provides gifts to children and seniors who are served by Peter Paul Development Center, as well as monetary gifts to our in-house emergency fund that helps pay for rent and utilities for those at risk of losing housing stability. Learn more here.
Thanksgiving Service and Food Collection

We invite you to our service of Holy Eucharist at 10 a.m. on Thanksgiving, Thursday, Nov. 28. Childcare will be available in the nursery.
Did you know that one in seven children in Central Virginia does not have adequate food nutrition?
Find a copy of Feed More's "most needed food items" in the narthex this Sunday and return your filled bags to the narthex before the Thanksgiving service. Feed More collects, prepares, and distributes food to neighbors in need within a service area of 34 counties and cities, with comprehensive food programs and an elaborate 300-partner-agency network.
Christ calls us to serve "the least of these." Give with joy and in thanksgiving for your abundance. Give knowing that you are providing the gift of nourishment to children and elderly citizens, individuals and families who are challenged with lack of adequate food. Give food and give hope!

Head into Advent with a Retreat
Saturday, December 7, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Please join us for a day of reflection and deepening of our faith, led by St. Jameser Fontaine Williamson. As we begin the season of Advent, our retreat day includes time for pondering Scriptures, other spiritual writings, and the Annunciation of Mary. There will also be listening, sharing and quiet time alone as we look at the topic of Fearlessness. Fontaine Williamson has trained as a spiritual director, retreat leader, and healing prayer minister. She also has a business, Creating Order Out of Chaos, in which she helps people declutter, downsize, and live more simply and efficiently. Register by December 2 here.

Please pray for deeply faithful and outrageous generosity to sustain our church and its ministries. May we all be inspired by St. James's worship and ministries, which are vital to our parish and our community. Our Stewardship campaign has not yet concluded, and we continue to welcome pledges and gifts through the end of the year. Every gift is vital as we build Christ's Kingdom on earth. Give here.
Sunday Morning Parking

With multiple faith communities nearby, our church neighborhood is busy on Sunday mornings. Please use our parking deck across from the church on Franklin Street and the top two floors (75 spaces) of the parking garage opposite One Monument Avenue (accessed from Lombardy Street at Stuart Circle) when attending services at St. James's. The surface lot beside Michaux House is for those with mobility challenges. Avoid West Avenue where parking is allowed by permit only.
