Thank You for the Music, Deacon Rubik Mailian

Contributor: Ardis Gregory

“One of my most gratifying

moments occurred on a particular Sunday morning when a non-Armenian guest attending Badarak approached me and said although he could not understand what we were singing, he felt that the music spoke to his heart. When I heard that, I knew we were doing something right,” says Deacon Rubik.

A feature story about the tremendous contributions of Deacon Rubik

just as we launch a year long celebration of the choir's

Centennial Anniversary culminating in a Joyous Gala on October 8, 2027

What Did the Kids do all Summer?

Contributors: Lisa Mardigian and Denise Karakashian

Some of them went to Church Day Camp ... we all enjoyed walking to the church for an interactive prayer and spiritual lesson with Father Aren Jebejian. The children loved learning about the mosaics, prayer life, bible stories, the Assumption of Mary, the Holy Mother God and other enriching topics.

Some of them went to Hye Camp ... In July, fifty-four campers, nine counselors in training and eleven staff traveled to Ingleside, Illinois for a fun filled week at the Midwest Regional Hye Camp!!

And some of them attended Arts of Armenia ... Students enjoyed a variety of activities around the theme of Royalties and Saints.

What do the Kids do on Sunday Morning?

Inspiring Stories from their Teachers

Contributors: Alice Agnian, Lena Montgomery,

Rosann Manoogian Attar and Linda Karibian

The goal is not simply for children to know about faith. It is to help them begin to understand their faith and make it their own. As children grow and encounter bigger questions about relationships, right and wrong, suffering, forgiveness, responsibility, and their place in the world, faith becomes a compass, helping them understand not only what they believe, but who they are..
