Congregational Meeting
Dear Friends in Christ,

As we continue to Re-Connect, Re-Care, and Re-Share in Christ the Leadership Board is excited to invite you to the Congregational Meeting on Sunday, June 27th at 12:15pm in the Church Sanctuary. Please join us and be engaged with other brothers and sisters in Christ so that collectively we can work to live out our Vision of “Discipleship in as Many Places as Possible."

As we approach the end of our current fiscal year we have important items to discuss and decisions that the members of St. John’s need to vote on. The Leadership Board will be recommending the approval of the 2021-2022 Ministry Plan under the 3-year Ends Policy Statements with objectives for the coming year.

We also have Leadership Board members to elect and the need to call a new teacher to serve in our Middle School and renew other calls for the coming year for teachers in the School and Early Childhood Center. There are links below to the agenda for the meeting, minutes from the previous Congregational meeting, short bios of the Leadership Board candidates for your review and the bio of a new teacher we recommend that the Church call to serve as a Commissioned Minister of the Gospel – Teacher in St. John’s Middle School. There will be information packets handed out at church services this coming weekend and the following weekend (please grab the packets as you leave worship).

The Leadership Board encourages you to attend the meeting to learn more about the plans that we feel God is calling us to execute. As we focus on strengthening our Households of Faith, it would be an amazing blessing if members who normally don’t attend these important meetings would be able to make this important meeting!

God is good and we are blessed!

President – St. John’s Leadership Board

Ladies, have you found yourselves wanting a break from the crazy demands of life after this past year? Are you looking for a way to reconnect? Come walk through the book of Judges with your St. John's sisters as we talk about "Identity Crisis," and find out who you really are in God's eyes: His precious child! Women of high school age and up are invited to join us September 24-26 at the Green Lake Conference/Retreat Center with our speaker, Karen Lippert. Registration is now open; you can register HERE or by calling the church office.
God’s dearly loved people of St. John’s,

How should we respond to God’s love and His very presence? How should we give thanks for God’s promises past, present, and future?  What is an appropriate offering to the Lord?

Your pastors and leaders invite every member to use the months of May and June as a special opportunity to rejoice, pray and give thanks to God . . . to put faith in action as part of the body of Christ, His Church. Once again, this spring, you will see green envelopes in the pews for a St. John’s “Thank Offering.” Please join us in this holy time of giving thanks.

How are you doing in supporting God’s work through your financial offerings? As you review your giving, perhaps you are doing better than you thought possible. Praise God! Maybe you are a little behind . . . maybe a lot behind. Maybe you have not given an offering yet this year. Wherever you find yourself, consider giving a Thank Offering. God tells us, “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Cor. 9:7) God wants our heart, and offerings are used by God to change our hearts. Offerings are a joy . . . not an obligation. Be cheerful! It is a great blessing and honor to be doing God’s work together!

So, what is an appropriate offering to the Lord? Scripture is clear - all of life is an offering in faith. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (1 Thess. 5:16-18) Let’s come together as God’s dearly loved people and encourage one another in all the blessings He provides. Let us rejoice, pray, and give thanks! Indeed, we rejoice and give thanks to God for you!

Peace in Christ,

Families - what a blessing and honor it is to host an in-person VBS this year! Children ages 3yrs (and potty trained) through 5th grade are welcome to participate in St. John's Annual Vacation Bible School! The theme this year is Rocky Railway: Jesus’ Power Pulls us Through… join us as we explore the rocky mountains with our bible buddies, station leaders, and crew leaders. Through the opening skits, songs, bible verse, bible stories, crafts, games, and even snack, God's good message of hope and love are spoken. Bring a friend and join us!

VBS Online Registration opened May 13th! Register HERE.

Registration fees are non-refundable. VBS protocols are being developed and will be available in June.

Calling all VBS Volunteers!!! It’s that time of year again when I am in need of strong, amazing, sweet, sassy, loud, quiet, Jesus-loving volunteers. Do any of those descriptive words describe you? I’m sure at least one of them did, so jump on board and join the team of VBS Volunteers. We are gearing up for another week of fantastic fun this summer (July 12th-16th). Volunteers meet in the Volunteer room by 8:30 am every morning during the week of VBS so that you are ready to welcome your crews or jump to the station you will be helping at. By 12:30 pm, you are typically finished serving for the day. If you have any questions, please contact me, Desiree Titus, at dtitus@stjohnswestbend.org and I would be more than happy to answer any of your questions.
