GIVING
When you sleep, your heart still pumps blood, you still breathe...think of the church in the summer that way.
While you're away this summer, the Missions and ministry of the church need to keep working. Electronic giving, text giving or even one time lump sum giving are three ways you can give while enjoying the beach.
MOBILE GIVING
Have you ever arrived at church and forgot your giving envelope? Or you would like to make a Communion Offering and you have just 18 cents in your pocketbook?
Well, help as arrived, as
St John's offers mobile giving!

Just go to the  website

Click on the donate now button, and register. Once you're registered, you can either make donations by debit or credit.

OR try
TEXT GIVING
In addition to our current opportunities for giving online, we now have the option of giving by text message. All you have to do is text the amount you wish to give to 215-398-1617.
You will immediately receive a one-time registration link, then just follow the prompts to complete your donation!

It's quick and secure.
The same vendor that handles electronic giving for us, Vanco Services, has state of the art encryption, so you can rest easy that your transaction is 100% safe and confidenti
al.

If you have any questions about mobile or text giving,
email Lou Lescas at  [email protected]

UMW

RONALD McDONALD HOUSE TABS COLLECTION
Naomi Circle is collecting tabs from beverage cans for Ronald McDonald House.  You will find a container under the sign hanging on the UMW bulletin board. Please place them in a plastic bag and put it in the container. This is an ongoing collection, so keep bringing them in as you collect them.   Thank you.
SHEETS FOR RED BIRD
Naomi Circle will be collecting sheets during the month of June.  Red Bird has requested twin sheets for their Christmas boxes this year.  They mentioned sheets with a juvenile pattern on them would be great.  They are also asking for solid colors.  There will be containers placed throughout the church for our donations.  Thanks for your support.  Any questions, please call Linda Barr, 215-773-9865, or Carol Campbell, 215-364-0942.

PASTOR'S REFLECTION
Immigration: such a troubling topic in recent days. It's all over the news: a zero-tolerance policy resulting not only in arrests, but with children and families being separated at the U.S.-Mexico border.
One of the things we want to keep in mind is that many of these families are fleeing for a reason: parents are trying to save their children. The countries of El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras are facing unparalleled levels of violent crime, and are currently ranked among the five most violent nations in the world.
As United Methodists, we want to reflect upon our Social Principles as we think and pray about this difficult topic. As always, we are asked to prayerfully consider our denomination's stand on a number of topics, immigration being one of them. With that in mind, I share with you Paragraph 162H from the 2016 United Methodist Book of Discipline:

H) Rights of Immigrants
We recognize, embrace, and affirm all persons, regardless of country of origin, as members of the family of God. We affirm the right of all persons to equal opportunities for employment, access to housing, health care, education, and freedom from social discrimination. We urge the Church and society to recognize the gifts, contributions, and struggles of those who are immigrants and to advocate for justice for all. We oppose immigration policies that separate family members from each other or that include detention of families with children, and we call on local churches to be in ministry with immigrant families.
A big part of being in ministry with immigrant families is to pray, and of course, to "advocate for justice for all." Let's make it our priority to pray for a quick resolution to a troubling situation. And let's pray for families in crisis everywhere.
