Sometimes there is a sight so amazing that you just can't help pulling over on the side of the road to get a good look. Maybe I've simply never been in the right place at the right time before, but I was driving down Almshouse Road toward Richboro this afternoon, and just as I was coming up on Tanner's, I saw an incredible sight out of the corner of my eye. There were a large number of cows RUNNING at top speed across the field. And I do mean RUNNING. I don't think I've ever seen such a sight in my life, nor did I have any idea that cows are even ABLE to run so fast. I just plain had to slow down, pull over for a minute and get a better look.
I'm not sure what was so incredibly fascinating to those cows, but they were all heading toward a fence where the rest of the herd was congregated. My guess is that there must have been something very enticing over there and apparently no one wanted to miss out on it.
Which makes a good analogy for the job we are all called to do - to share the love of Christ in such a way that everyone who has never heard the good news will come running. When we consciously look for ways to appropriately share our stories of faith, when we consistently treat others the way we ourselves would want to be treated, and when we openly display the compassion, the hope, and the grace of the Christian faith, the wonder of it is irresistible. People will naturally want to know what it is that is making you tick, because they want
the same thing for themselves.
So check out the field beside Tanner's the next time you're in the area. And let's take a lesson from those cows.
Pastor Janice

GREAT DAY AT ST. JOHN'S
The
34th
Annual
Chi
cken BBQ
was
our commitment to all those patrons who had ignored the rainy weather. They came to enjoy some fellowship and a tasty dinner in Fellowship Hall or chose the Take-out option to bring their dinner home. Even though we had about one half of the normal turnout, the BBQ is still considered a success as we annually serve those in our community.
The commitment doesn't change...
O
ur volunteer teams continue to
come together and
demonstrate
their
warm
and welcoming
fellowship!
In spite of the weather,
our Pit Teams
, our
Ticket Sales Teams and our Take-out Dinner T

O

Hosts, Servers
and Kitchen Teams
worked together
to give
our inside dining patrons an enjoyable
experience to remember! Our dinner patrons that came between 3PM and 6PM got a special bonus of live music performed by The Jazz Sanctuary!
The United Methodist Men of St. John's are very
proud of this outreach
and are truly
