PASTOR JANICE'S REFLECTION
|
|
I sincerely hope that none of you have occasion to stop over at the parsonage this week, because if you do, you are very likely to hear an unusual amount of noise, and perhaps even see a fair amount of chaos. I'm actually writing this on Saturday because I'm trying to get as much work as possible out of the way prior to tomorrow afternoon when two of the grandkids along with a step-grandkid will be arriving to spend the week with me. Yes, it's Vacation Bible School week again, and all three of them have been counting down the days. They love coming to our VBS each summer - they talk about it all year.
I hope you'll take some time this week to find a way to give thanks to the many people, both laity and staff, who give of their time and energy to make our VBS such a fun, inspiring, and faith-building event for the young people who'll be coming to our church this week. Some of them are our OWN children, others are children from our surrounding community who may or may not have any exposure to the Christian faith. So I hope you've been praying that many small hearts will be touched by God's grace and goodness this week. I consider VBS to be one of the greatest things that we, as a church family, do for and with our young children each year. The impact of what they learn and experience has the potential to change the direction of their lives for many years to come.
So continue to pray for them - and give God the glory!
Pastor Janice
