PASTOR'S REFLECTION
Sometimes there is a very simple solution to a problem that is perhaps SO simple that it has totally escaped you for your entire life.
Anyone who knows me well will tell you I don't eat cereal and milk for breakfast. And the reason is simple: the cereal gets soggy. From the time I was a child, I've pretty much refused to eat soggy cereal.
Well little did I know that I am not alone - and so maybe I'm not quite as strange as I thought I was! A friend, knowing my quirkiness about eating soggy food, bought me a gift - it's a special bowl that is specifically made for people like me. It has a "cereal" side and a "milk" side so you can easily dip your cereal into the milk spoonful by spoonful. It's called "Just Crunch," and it claims to be "the anti-soggy cereal bowl". WOW! I was so excited that went right out and bought myself some corn flakes, and guess what? It works!
So the lesson, of course, is that sometimes, we just have to open our eyes - often, there is a simple solution staring us right in the face.
Granted, my little cereal dilemma is rather trivial compared to some of the other problems we can run into. Sometimes we wear ourselves out trying to come up with remedies, and other times, we just give up completely (like I did - for a zillion years, lol!). But there is often a very simple solution to the more serious dilemmas of our daily lives, isn't there? Most of the time, the solution involves doing the one thing we tend to resist - giving our problems to God and then trusting that God has all the answers. Which he DOES.
And just in case you, too, hate soggy foods, you can easily buy your very own "Just Crunch" bowl from Amazon.com!
Looking forward to seeing you in worship this Sunday!
                                                Pastor Janice

God is Everywhere...so we look for him around us.

"When I Found You"
by: Catherine Ryan Hyde

What do I have to do to make you wash your hands of me?  There's nothing you could do.  I will never wash my hands of you.  From the author of Pay It Forward comes a poignant tale of love, pain and trusting people to stay by your side in a world where leaving is easy.

We will meet on Tuesday, June 4, at 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM in the Church  Parlor.
Leaders are Barbara Schneider and Carol Campbell.
All are welcome.

SHEETS FOR RED BIRD
Naomi Circle is collecting sheets for Red Bird Mission during the month of June. They will be included in the Christmas Boxes that each family receives.  Because of your generosity, last year each child received their own set of sheets.  Many received their own set for the first time.  All sizes are requested, juvenile twins would be great.  Containers may be found throughout the church for your donations.  Any questions please contact Linda Barr, 215-773-9865 or Carol Campbell, 215-364-0942.
Thank you.
HEARTS FOR MISSIONS
St. John's is bringing back our "Hearts for Missions" theme.  Our Missions Team met recently and identified some hands-on mission projects you may want to be a part of.
  • One Great Day of Service - detail coming soon.
  • Habitat for Humanity - working on construction/finishing of four homes in the Morrisville Area.
  • Third annual R.I.S.E. Sunday, October 6, 2019.
You are invited to join us as we work to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those in need.
