St. John's Messy Church
At Messy Church we explore a biblical theme through hands-on creative activities, a celebration of story, song and prayer and conclude by sharing a meal. The usual Messy Church experience includes activities for all-ages -- playing and working together to   explore the theme of the bible story. Later, the worship experience culminates in a meal together.
Messy Church started in an Anglican church near Portsmouth, United Kingdom, in 2004 and has grown into an international movement operating across a wide range of Christian denominations and traditions. Messy Church began with a simple question asked by a group of leaders in a small community : "How can our small church reach the many families in our community?" And so,   began a journey of discovery and the birth of Messy Church -- shaping worship, learning, and fellowship around the needs of families with children. Today more than 500,000 people   participate at a Messy Church experience in over 30 countries. Messy Church USA has been growing and stretching.
As our Passion Offering in February, please consider a     contribution to our own Messy Church Program here at St. John's UCC so we can continue to provide this invaluable program to our community's   children.

Every day brings new beginnings and new opportunities. God's love inspires us to engage in acts of love towards our neighbors, children, and creation. Live out the Love of God and act every day towards a world worthy of God's blessings.
Look for actions in each week's "News & Events"
so you can live out God's love .

Sunday Morning Bible Study
Please join us for o ur weekly Bible Study on
Sund ays at 9:15 am. We are studying the book of Philippians.
Children are welcome to our Sunday School
each week at 10:30 AM.
Power Packs Project
Volunteers needed for Power Packs: The Jonestown Council of Churches supports this program at Jonestown Elementary, which is an initiative to 1) provide weekend food for children who receive free/reduced price lunches during the week and 2) to teach families how to cook healthy, frugal meals.
Each week, we need two volunteers to serve at the school from 2:45-4 PM. Volunteers help with sorting the bags, and distributing to families when they arrive.
Volunteers can expect to serve once every four to six weeks, during the school year (program is canceled on snow days!)
If you are able to help with this project, please reply to Pastor Caitlin Kurtz at 717-865-3652 or as soon as possible!

Pastoral Care
Rev. Len Knighton is serving as our interim minister.
If you have a family member in the hospital or that would
benefit by a home visit, please contact Rev. Knighton
at (717)304-3007. Also, please free to contact
Wendy Lingle at (717)319-5951, with any concerns.
Enjoy the Convenience of Electronic Giving
It is encouraging to see both new and familiar faces at our worship services. Throughout the year, many of you already support the congregation with your time, talent and financial contributions but greater participation is always welcome. We encourage you to look into our electronic giving program. It takes just a few minutes to set up a recurring giving plan. Contact the church office for more details or pick up an authorization form today.
