3rd grade helps monthly Food Pantry needs!
Each month, St. John's 3rd grade spends $77 from the chapel offerings collected in September. With the shopping help of Bonnie Mielke, we were able to purchase spaghetti sauce, pasta, cereal, and our month non-food item which was deodorant. This month, so far, we have purchased 72 cans of soup and canned vegetables. We will also buy bars of soap. The 3rd graders are excited to serve God and the community through this outreach. Our next food pantry drop off will be Tuesday, November 24 from 11:30-1:30 during our pie fundraiser pick-up. We are grateful to Sue Kunz for dropping off our donations at the food pantry.
As we look forward to Christmas, our nation and our world are still reeling from the COVID-19 pandemic. Many are looking for comfort and peace and we want to do all we can to help them find hope in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The Operation Christmas Child team has been working hard to make sure they can safely collect and deliver shoebox gifts. The National Collection week is November 16-23rd, the week before Thanksgiving. They understand there are challenges of packing shoeboxes in this unusual year. There will be a few options available to pack a box this year.

  • Boxes will be available before and after the 505 service on Saturday evening and before and after the 9:00 am service on Sundays.
  • The first graders will also be doing Operation Christmas Child boxes for their Eagles in Action project and will distribute boxes to the other classrooms.
  • You can also personalize a shoebox or two ONLINE for $25 per box at samaritanspurse.org/occ.

The deadline to turn in or to personalize a box online will be Sunday, November 15, 2020If you are not going to be attending church that day but would like to drop off your completed Operation Christmas Child box, someone will be in the church parking lot from 9:45 to 10:30 am to accept your box. Thank you!
Brookfield Zoo Trim a Tree Ornaments

Our St. John's Youth will be decorating a tree for St. John's on November 22nd. We are asking that church and school families/members help us prepare an ornament that will be displayed on the tree. When you sign up please note whether you would like to pick up the ornament during a scheduled 505 or 9am Worship Service, OR if you would like the ornament to be sent home with your child from school.
NOTE: IF YOU REQUEST IT TO BE SENT HOME WITH YOUR CHILD FROM SCHOOL, PLEASE NOTE THEIR CLASSROOM TEACHER.
You may sign up for more than one ornament. You may also create your own ornament at home that we can hang. There will be a bin labeled on the table inside Door A for delivering these back.

All ornaments are due back by: Wednesday, Nov. 18th.

As the weather starts to get colder, BEDs Plus is currently in need of coats for their clients.  They have the following specific request:

ONLY STURDY & WARM WINTER COATS: gently used or new coats in good condition for Men and Women in sizes XL,XXL and 3XL.

NO formal long coats, dress coats or lightweight coats. Their clients cannot use these.

Please place them in a box that will be provided in the narthex.
