Hymn of Praise
Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, v1, 5 (#139)
Praise to the Lord, the Almighty,
 the King of creation!
O my soul, praise him, for he is thy
 health and salvation!
All ye who hear,
 now to his temple draw near;
Join me in glad adoration!

Praise to the Lord!
O let all that is in me adore him!
All that hath life and breath,
come now with praises before Him!
Let the amen
 sound from his people again,
Gladly forever adore him.

(Leader to Congregation)
Dear friends, today we welcome Pastor Brad Light, who has been appointed to serve as our pastor. We believe he is well qualified, and has been prayerfully appointed by our bishop, Peggy Johnson.

(Leader to Pastor)
Pastor Brad, you have been sent to live among us as a bearer of the word of God; a minister of the sacraments; and a sustainer of the love, order, and discipleship of the people of God.

(Pastor)
Today, I reaffirm this commitment in the presence of this congregation.

(Leader to Congregation)
Brothers and sisters in Christ, as a people committed to participate in the ministries of the Church by your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service, and your witness, will you who celebrate this new beginning support and uphold Pastor Brad in these ministries?

(Congregation)
We affirm our commitment to support him with our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness.

(Leader)
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of the messenger

(Congregation)
Who announces peace, who brings good news, who announces salvation .

(Leader)
Let us pray.
Eternal God, strengthen us and sustain us in our ministries together, with Pastor Brad as our pastor. Give him and us patience, courage, and wisdom so to care for one another and challenge one another that together we may follow Jesus Christ, living together ion love, and offering our gifts and talents in your service; thorough Jesus Christ our Lord.

(Congregation)
Amen

Prayer of Intercession

Prayer of Confession
Eternal God, as we return to your sanctuary, we are thankful for your ongoing presence in our midst. We recognize how our hearts are restless until they find their rest in you. Still, we often struggle to completely trust in your guidance, in your direction, and in your provision. Forgive us, O God. Strengthen our hearts anew, that as we see your vision, we may go where you send us with open arms and serving hands. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Hymn
Spirit Song #601
O let the Son of God enfold you
with his Spirit and his love.
Let him fill your heart
  and satisfy your soul.

O let him have the things that hold you,
and his Spirit like a dove
will descend upon your life
and make you whole.

Jesus, O Jesus,
 come and fill your lambs.
Jesus, O Jesus,
 come and fill your lambs.

O come and sing this song with gladness
as your hearts are filled with joy.
Lift your hands in sweet surrender
  to his name.

O give him all your tears and sadness;
give him all your years of pain,
and you’ll enter into life in Jesus’ name.

Jesus, O Jesus,
 come and fill your lambs.
Jesus, O Jesus,
 come and fill your lambs

Hymn
Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing, v1,3 #400
Come, thou Fount of every blessing,
 tune my heart to sing thy grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
call for songs of loudest praise.

Teach me some melodious sonnet,
 sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it,
 mount of thy redeeming love.

O to grace how great a debtor
 daily I’m constrained to be!
Let thy goodness, like a fetter,
bind my wandering heart to thee.

Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
 prone to leave the God I love;
here’s my heart, O take and seal it,
seal it for thy courts above.
