Jesus said, “With humans this is impossible,
but with God all things are possible.”
Matthew 19:26
We the people at St. John's are imagining the possibilities. The last year and a half has certainly taught us to be creative and to use our imagination in order to survive shut downs, shelter in place, quarantines, isolation, online learning, worship, and communications. Like you, we have been resilient and tired, apathetic and longing, impatient and hopeful. Our journey through the pandemic wilderness has given us a different view of the promise land. We know how easy it is to stay at home after months of being in your home experiencing your world in front of a computer or a tv. However, we invite you to gather with us in person and experience "community" and "togetherness" once again. Let's reimagine Christ's presence together.
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11

JOY Pantry
The JOY Pantry is resuming hours for clients to come into the pantry so they can select the items they want. Following CDC guidelines, we feel it’s safe to resume service inside.
Our community was very generous during this pandemic. We were able to remain open
the entire time to provide much needed food to the less fortunate. We serviced over 40 new families since the pandemic started.
Thank you for believing in our ministry and supporting us financially so we can provide a space where we can care for our community.
We are providing “Kid Friendly” food again this summer. Items like canned pasta, individual fruit cups, Mac & cheese, peanut butter & jelly, and crackers are appreciated.
-Linda Wood, Volunteer Director
Financial donations are always welcome and can be mailed to:

3 Great Loves is a denomination wide story telling initiative. Over the span of two years, we will collect and lift up the stories of our local churches and affiliates. We want to hear about the knitting clubs, the food pantries, the community meals, protest, letter writing campaigns and anything else your church or organization may be doing to create a just world for all. NOTHING IS TOO SMALL. The work that is already being done is significant and greatly needed. Our hope is that this initiative, we will tell the story of how we are impacting and transforming the world as covenantal partners united in common purpose, vision, and mission.
“For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.” 1 Corinthians 12:12-27
Participation in the initiative is simply to pass along the story of the good work your church and/or community is already doing to create a just world for all. 3 ways to share your story:
- Complete the online form
- Participate in the Online Community
- Tell your story on Facebook and Twitter using #3greatloves
