Hello Everyone,

I have been getting a lot of questions about the music for our Sunday Services. So, I thought I would share how this all works.

Pictured below is my organ at home. This is what I use to record all of our Sunday music. Thanks to Ron's technical abilities and this wonderful instrument, all of the music that I play is recoded internally in the organ. It is then transferred into the computer using a special program called Audacity, and then sent to Julie. Julie then inserts it into our Sunday Service. And thus, it is just like I was upfront playing, except I recorded it at home.

I hope this adds to your enjoyment of our Sunday Service. I would love to play your favorite hymns for you. Just let me know what your special song is and I will gladly add that into the service for you in the near future!

Thankfully yours,

Sue Boltz

COMMUNITY AND WORLD
JOY Pantry

The Jonestown Outreach Pantry continues to provide food, household items, and personal care items to the less fortunate in our local communities. We partnered with the Caring Cupboard in Palmyra. This allows us to provide milk, fresh produce, and frozen meat to our clients. Thank you for believing in our ministry and supporting us financially so we can provide a space where we can care for our neighbors.

A note from your
Board President:

Happy 285th Birthday,

 St. John's!

As we move into September and students return to school, we are also starting “school”. Adult Sunday School will begin September 3, at 9:30 AM in the Gathering Room. Assistant Pastor Justin Swingholm will present the first class. On September 17th, Adult Sunday School will be held again with Assistant Pastor Morris Coleman. Please come and learn and support our assistant pastors as this program is an integral part of their training.

After Sunday School and before the regular Sunday services begin, coffee and breakfast pastries will be available in the gathering room. I would suggest this is a great time for the members of the congregation to meet and get to know our Assistant Pastors.

Our Church will be 285 years old this year, so September 24 will be Homecoming Rally Day at St. John’s. It is also Red Bean Sunday. It is time to pay our yearly rent. The celebration will begin with breakfast in the Social Hall followed by special entertainment from the Swatty Creek Gospel Group. The presentation of the “Red Bean” to pay the rent, and other special presentations. The entire program will be held in the Social Hall.

If you have not been to our Sunday Services for a while please come and learn a bit of the history of the church and the meaning of the Red Bean rent payment, meet old and new friends, enjoy some down home entertainment and help celebrate St John’s 285th Birthday, with a delicious piece of birthday cake.

Board President
