"No duty is more urgent than that of returning thanks."
--St. Ambrose
Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I find myself still in awe from the commUNITY event held virtually on Saturday night. I knew of the goodness and generosity of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and School family, but to see it in action and to be a part of it feels like an incredible blessing. I was moved by the outpouring of love, monetary gifts, chatting words of encouragement or appreciation, and virtual presence of more than 500 people throughout the event! It was tremendous! As was my hat . . . I'll try not to hold it against you that you didn't vote me as the winner!

We hope to share final numbers with you over the next week or two as donations still roll in and those that preferred to donate via check have time to get that into the parish office this week. To that note, you can still contribute! We are shy of our $100,000 goal by around $10,000. There is still an opportunity to give, which allows us to give generously to others with our commitment to tithe 20% of the net proceeds! The more generously you give, the more we are able to give to the Sisters of Pro Ecclesia Sancta and the community of Savage.

You can still give online using the link below. You can also drop off a check in the parish office this week if that is a better option for you. Be sure to mark "commUNITY" on the envelope and on the check in the subject line.

As we prepare to open the church doors once again (albeit slowly) to the public, it gives me great confidence in the strong commitment of the parish and school that going forward we will always walk together in unity.

In gratitude,
Father Ben Little
As with so many events in our local & global communities these days, our St. John's Super Sale team has been taking time to discern if our annual sale will be possible this year. Knowing that this sale continues to serve a need in our community, perhaps even more so during these economic times, yet also giving strong consideration to the safety of all involved, we want to be prudent in how we proceed.

At this time, we have decided to postpone the sale originally scheduled for June and are looking at options later into this year. Please pray for us as we look to make decisions based on what we estimate will best serve the St. John's & local Savage community. Stay tuned for further updates.
Over the past four weeks a group has been having virtual coffee on Monday's at 9AM. This has been a great time of fellowship and connection. Our next virtual coffee will be Monday May 11 at 9AM. If you would like to join the group, please send an email to Beth Prendi at and she will send you an electronic invite to join the Zoom call.
Let's meet virtually to discuss the book, Searching for and Maintaining Peace: A Small Treatise on Peace of Heart , by Jacques Philippe.

Zoom sessions will be held Tuesday mornings at 9:30AM beginning May 19 through June 9. We will discuss finding peace in a very disruptive Covid-19 world. Sister Eileen will lead us in prayer and discussion.

What is needed? Your book and study guide!

The book may be obtained by personal order online. The Study Guide can be printed by you OR will be printed for you to pick up in the parish office door 11 before the May 19 start date.

Please use this link to register. Once registered, you will receive an email with more information and the link to the Zoom meeting.
Confession will again be offered in a drive-thru style this Saturday at 3:30PM outside the rectory. Cars are asked to enter the parking lot through the west and exit north. You can see the visual map below for specific logistical information.

Those receiving this sacrament are asked to be mindful of those around you to respect privacy and go one at a time. In addition, we encourage you to "be bold, be brief, and be gone!"
