Healthcare Career Expo Aims to Strengthen Local Talent Pipeline

St. Johns County will host a Healthcare Career Expo on April 8 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the First Coast Technical College Conference Center, located at 2980 Collins Ave., St. Augustine. The event is designed to connect students, young adults, and job seekers with the wide range of career opportunities available in the healthcare industry and provide direct access to local employers and training institutions. New Behind the SJCenes podcast discussed the upcoming Expo.

Groundbreaking Held for $13 Million Fire Station 22 and Sheriff’s Operations Center

St. Johns County officials celebrated the groundbreaking of Fire Station 22 and a new St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Operations Center on March 12. The approximately $13 million, 20,000-square-foot public safety facility will serve residents in the north-central region of the county, including the Silverleaf community and surrounding areas along County Road 210 and State Road 16A. The Office of Public Affairs produced a video to commemorate the event.

Inside SJC Episode 12 Explores Health and Quality of Life in St. Johns County

St. Johns County launched Inside SJC Episode 12: SJC Tops the Charts for Healthiest County in Florida. This episode gives viewers an inside look at the quality of life inside St. Johns County. According to the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, St. Johns County consistently ranks as the healthiest county in the state of Florida

Greenbriar Park and Library Groundbreaking Ceremony

On March 10, St. Johns County held a groundbreaking ceremony for the $23.8 million construction of Greenbriar Park and Library. The Office of Public Affairs produced a video to commemorate the event.Greenbriar Park and Library (505 Rally Road, St. Johns) is part of a regional park initiative meant to expand St. Johns County’s public spaces alongside its expanding population. It represents the third of four new sites, with the first two (the Silverleaf Sportsplex and the Shearwater Community Park and Library) breaking ground simultaneously in June 2025.

Seed Library branches out at the St. Johns County Public Library System

The St. Johns County Public Library System (SJCPLS), in partnership with the St. Augustine AmphitheatreEdible Northeast Florida, and Maritime Creative, expanded its Seed Library to the Main Branch Library in January 2026. The Seed Library offers a free, community-focused gardening resource at one of SJCPLS’ busiest locations.



Not a Library User? The St. Johns County Public Library System invites non-library users to share their perspectives through an online community survey as part of the system’s strategic planning process.

Agriculture Advisory Committee Appointed to Support Farming Community

The St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners voted to appoint seven members to serve on the inaugural St. Johns County Agriculture Advisory Committee.


The Agriculture Advisory Committee will serve as a resource to the Board, offering insight and recommendations to support and strengthen St. Johns County’s agricultural industry.

San Sebastian River Park to be Renamed the Waldron Family Park

At the March 3, 2026, St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners Regular Meeting, Commissioner Clay Murphy presented a proclamation on behalf of the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners, recognizing the Waldron family’s legacy of public service.


The San Sebastian River Park will be renamed the Waldron Family Park in honor of former Commissioners Harry Waldron and Paul Waldron.

Traffic Signal Optimization and How to Navigate Intersections

St. Johns County is highlighting how traffic signal optimization supports efficient traffic movement and how drivers can navigate intersections as part of ongoing efforts to keep the County’s transportation network operating effectively. An educational video produced by the Office of Public Affairs features the Public Works Traffic and Transportation Division and provides an inside look at signal operations.
