The County Launches Episode 4 in The Inside SJC Video Series

St. Johns County launched Inside SJC Episode 4: Parks and Rec Enhancing Economic Vitality. This episode gives viewers the opportunity to go behind the scenes at the St. Johns County Parks and Recreation Department. Not only do our beaches, trails, and parks increase quality of life for residents and tourists, but they have a positive impact on our local economy.

The County Provides Capital Improvement Project Updates

A major roadway expansion project is in progress along County Road 2209, where St. Johns County is constructing a new four-lane corridor between Silverleaf Parkway and State Road 16 to improve traffic flow. The Office of Public Affairs produced a video to highlight the progress thus far. The County Celebrates New Park Amenities

State Budget Includes $1.5 Million for St. Johns County Projects - County Presents Legislative Update

On June 30, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the Fiscal Year 2025-26 State Budget into law, which includes $1.5 million in funding for two important initiatives in St. Johns County: the development of the Florida Museum of Black History and improvements to the Interstate 95 and International Golf Parkway interchange. SJC Launches New ‘Featured Projects’ Web Page to Enhance Government Transparency

St. Johns County is proud to announce the launch of its new Featured Projects web page, a significant advancement in local government transparency, community engagement, and innovative public service. The interactive site, now live at www.sjcfl.us/featured-projects, provides the public with unprecedented access to detailed information about major ongoing and completed capital improvement projects across St. Johns County.

St. Johns County Celebrates the Reopening of the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall

On July 30, 2025, St. Johns County celebrated the grand reopening of the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall. The Office of Public Affairs produced a video to capture the celebration.

In 2023, the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved a public-private partnership with SJC Cultural Events, Inc. to oversee the operation and management of the St. Augustine Amphitheatre and Ponte Vedra Concert Hall. Last year, the BCC participated in the “Load Out” of the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall ahead of the grand renovation.

The County Distributes Free Sandbags and Continues Hurricane Readiness Efforts

St. Johns County concluded a successful sandbag distribution event, providing thousands of free, pre-filled sandbags to residents. The effort was to help the community prepare for hurricane season. The Office of Public Affairs produced a video. Click here to read more.

SJC Parks and Recreation Showcases Their Accessibility Options with All-Abilities Paddle Event 

The St. Johns County Parks and Recreation Department hosted an All-Abilities Paddle kayaking event on July 19 during their Parks and Recreation Month celebration to highlight the programs’ accessibility options. The Office of Public Affairs produced a video with Outdoor Recreation Supervisor Kelly Ussia explaining Parks and Recreation’s adaptive equipment.
