County Launches New Website and Mobile App

At the Feb. 20 St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners regular meeting, a new wave of digital communication and public engagement was announced with the launch of a new website and mobile app.

Comprehensive Plan Update and New Strategic Plan Public Meetings

St. Johns County has embarked on an aggressive public engagement effort for community participation in an update of its Comprehensive Plan and a new Strategic Plan, with meetings held in February and more being planned for March.

Ponte Vedra Beach Restoration Begins

St. Johns County is set to begin the $38.6 million Ponte Vedra Beach Restoration Project in March that will restore storm-damaged dunes and berms to provide storm protection to upland infrastructure with more than two million cubic yards of sand dredged in from the ocean.

"Get Hooked" Anti-Litter Initiative

On Feb. 20, during the St. Johns County Board of County Commission meeting, the St. Johns County Solid Waste Division announced its new “Get Hooked” initiative to educate and engage residents, increase awareness, and provide action items to prevent litter.

County to Relocate Historic Canright House to Collier-Blocker-Puryear Park

The St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) voted unanimously to relocate the historic beach cottage known as the “Canright House” from 5480 Atlantic View to Collier-Blocker-Puryear Park (10 N. Holmes Blvd., St. Augustine) during its regular Feb. 20 meeting.
