Pastor's Message
Spring Renovation
Spring is usually a time when we think of renovating our home. At our first meeting of the spring season, Pastoral Council embarked on a journey of "divine renovation" for the Parish. It is a journey that we hope will take us from being a "maintenance parish" to a "missionary parish". It's a renovation that won't be finished in one season and eventually should impact us all.

For you to appreciate the process that we have embarked upon I would encourage you to read the book "Divine Renovation" by Fr. James Mallon. We have much to learn from Fr. Mallon's experiences and insights and we see them as highly applicable to our own circumstances here at St. Leonard's. In the short term we will be developing a vision statement and hope to have a working group review and outline our priorities by September.

Central to this renewal effort will be bringing more people (both parishioners and the un-churched) to a personal relationship with Christ. The overarching goal of our "divine renovation" here at St. Leonard's will be to foster a community where individuals become disciples. St. Leonard's will be a place where you encounter Jesus, are formed in your faith and become eager to head out to spread the "good news" to your family, your friends and your community. I would humbly ask that you reflect on this initiative and pray that it be inspired by the Holy Spirit. God Bless! Father Titus

Growing your Faith
Adult Faith Formation at St. Leonard

Adult faith formation at St. Leonard aims to deepen people's contact with Jesus Christ via educational and enrichment opportunities. Designed to touch the intellect as well as the heart, these programs help people live and experience a more Christ-centered life.

We offer two programs for adults at St. Leonard; Alpha and Formed. Alpha is a large group program that runs for ten weeks in the Parish Hall and provides and introduction to Christianity in an informal and fun format. Stay tuned for the announcement of the dates and times for the next program.

The other program currently available to all St. Leonard parishioners is an online program called FORMED.

FORMED offers in-depth faith formation at your fingertips and allows you to personalize your faith formation experience. Many parishes in Canada, including St. Leonard, are subscribed to this exciting new online platform, FORMED.org. This "Catholic version of Netflix" can be streamed to your TV or mobile device and contains some of the best Catholic content there is - video series, movies, books and study programs - all to help you grow in your faith, find deeper peace with God, and share what you believe with others.

To register now for FORMED go to our web page announcement and sign-up. New content is continuing to be added, so return as often as you wish to discover more.

Confirmation at Notre Dame Basilica

On Sunday,   May 29th,  79 children of St. Leonard Parish received the sacrament of Confirmation at Notre Dame Basilica.  The Most Reverend Christian Riesbeck, CC, V.G. Auxiliary Bishop of Ottawa and our own Pastor Reverend Titus Egbueh presided over the ceremony, calling on the Holy Spirit to be with our young people as they became fully confirmed in our Catholic faith.  A special thank-you to the many volunteers and supporters that made the 2016 Confirmation program a success and to the parents that also prepared their children for their big day.  Special mention to Hilda Cambareri our catechist and Joanne and Jim Kile who dedicated many hours to this worthy cause.
