Monthly E-Newsletter for Sept 2015
A new way to stay in touch

This month we are introducing our first electronic newsletter. It gives us a new way to reach all parishioners with important messages and news on upcoming events. If you know someone who might benefit from this E-Newsletter please forward it to them.

Pastor's Message
Welcome back!

It's been a busy summer here at St. Leonard's and I am especially pleased to welcome back all of our parishioners who may have been away at the cottage or on long summer vacations. Our Parish family suffered a great loss with the passing of Deacon Jeff Nelson in July and I am sure all of you will join me in heartfelt support for Jeff's wife Janet and all of the Nelson family.

As we launch our program for the fall our priority will continue to be the development of a strong and vibrant Catholic community where we come together to celebrate God's love. By focusing on being welcoming and friendly we will make St. Leonard's a special place along the shores of the beautiful Rideau River for all to come and seek communion and solidarity with Jesus. This month, in response to Pope Francis's call to "be a church that finds new roads", we will establish an evangelization team to study and implement new ways that we can bring more Catholics into a personal relationship with Christ and His Church. This monthly electronic newsletter is one such example of "a new road".

As the children head back to school and the pace of our lives quickens, I encourage you to remember to keep God in the center of your life. Look for His presence and seek His company in your daily life. Bring the good news of the risen Lord to your family and friends and show by your example what it means to be a follower of Christ. God Bless!
