Greetings from your Elementary School Alma Mater!

As an alum myself (St. Louis Class of '83), it is with great joy that I connect with the alumni community through our St. Louis Alumni Newsletter. Each one of us has memories of our days, teachers and friends at St. Louis School, and all of those memories combine to create 60 years of deep tradition and ongoing Christ-centered education here on Popkins Lane. It is our goal to connect with you and share the blessings of a united school community.

Fr. Zuberbueler blesses the new media center.
Dear St. Louis Alumni,
It's hard to believe that 2017 is already well underway! This past Fall was an exciting time for St. Louis School, as we celebrated our 60th anniversary in grand fashion. The weekend of October 21st was devoted to our alumni and the dedication of our newly renovated media center. Over 100 alumni and friends joined students and staff for Mass and a special room dedication and blessing, where we recognized Mrs. Fran Schneider and Mrs. Noreen Gilmour for their contributions to the school and parish community. Mrs. Schneider's family and Mrs. Gilmour herself were there as we presented prayer quilts to them and hung plaques in their honor. Our pastor, Rev. Matthew Zuberbueler, blessed the new space: a new modern library and computer lab with major technology upgrades, modular furniture, and multiple spaces for small group work and conferencing.

When evening set in on Oct. 21st, the school gym (McClunn Hall) filled with more than 150 alumni graduates and friends from the 1960's through the 2000's for a wonderful dinner, music, fellowship and plenty of reminiscing. Our own St. Louis graduate, Rev. Bob Cillinski, spoke to the alums and provided a blessing for the wonderful meal! With so many graduates from the first years of St. Louis School in attendance, we were reminded that the importance of family, friends, faith-filled learning, and service were, and have always been, the foundation of St. Louis School. The celebratory weekend continued with the annual Hawks 5K event and community fair! It was a windy morning, but not too windy to keep the families away. Over 400 participants walked, ran and celebrated with great Hawk spirit! St. Louis School was blessed by the weekend visitors and reminded them to come back anytime!

If you were an alum who joined in our 60th anniversary events, I want to thank you for joining us, praying with us, and sharing your joy with others. If you haven't been able to come back and visit yet, know that we are grateful for your interest in your alma mater. We thank you for your support, near and far, and hope that you are able to drop by for a visit some time! Please pray for our students, our teachers and staff as we all work together to continue the tradition of maintaining a vibrant, thriving, faith-filled place to learn, grow and celebrate all God's blessings.

In October, you may have noticed the new sanctuary renovations as well as new pews and lighting in the Church. The renovations were completed in January 2016. A brief explanation of the new features can be found on the parish website.

Alumni are always welcome to join our students for Mass every Friday at 8:45am and during Lent, Stations of the Cross at 2:30pm on Fridays.

Annual Fund Benefits Technology Upgrades
St. Louis Catholic School is proud to be a 21st century school with a traditional quality education foundation and a Christ-centered mission. We understand the importance of looking forward, updating the facilities, and enhancing technology and classroom furniture in order to the meet the needs of our students and parish families.

Our 2016-17 Annual Fund is dedicated to further upgrades in technology with the replacement of teacher computers and the addition of more Chromebook carts. Our use of Google Classroom, online standardized testing, differentiated Math and English enrichment software, and online middle school Science techbook instruction are enhanced by additional technology devices.
