Ready Families

Home visiting is a prevention strategy used to support pregnant moms and new parents to promote infant and child health, foster educational development and school readiness, and help prevent child abuse and neglect. High-quality home visiting programs offer vital support to parents as they navigate raising babies and young children.

Are you or someone you know interested in home visiting? Good Shepherd St. Louis offers home visiting in our community. To learn more or access services contact 314-560-6703 or check out the parenting support site.

MPACT

Missouri Parent's Act is a federally funded parent training center. Their mission is to empower families to advocate for themselves so that children with special education needs can reach their full potential in education and life – through support, training, and education.

Throughout May you can learn about supporting children through the special education process!

Ready Schools

In Summer 2022 Turn the Page STL director, Lisa Greening, brought together numerous pubic and private schools, organizations, and community members to discuss and find solutions to help our young children successfully transition to kindergarten.

The conversation and learnings, captured by University of Missouri St. Louis, can be found in the Kindergarten Readiness Work Team Report.

The key recommendation from the report, is to create a state wide pre-k to kindergarten transition policy staffed by state and local transition specialists.

Currently the St. Louis region Community Leader team is meeting with each school district to find out about current transition policies and strategies. Our findings will be reported in an upcoming newsletter.
