Dear St. Louis Alumni,
Happy summer to all of you! On June 10th, we sent the St. Louis School students off for summer break. I’m sure you can relate to that feeling of elation heading out to carpool on that final day, with thoughts of summer fun and no homework… things haven’t changed! I am proud of the way each of our students has handled this year and the resilience they have demonstrated. God is indeed good to us, ensuring that summer break comes at the right time and provides the right amount of respite we all need.
We ended our school year with a final assembly, emphasizing our spiritual theme, “Faith Moves Mountains.” Students have faced multiple “mountains” this year as the pandemic continued and new obstacles surfaced creating cumbersome moments. I told our graduating 8th graders in my message to them that the reality is we will always have mountains to overcome, and their faith will allow them to “move” them—because God uses those mountains to demonstrate that they have the ability to do hard things. We know that every student’s time spent at St. Louis has grounded them in foundational skills, rooted them in faith, and granted them knowledge to be successful life learners.
St. Louis School is always looking for opportunities to connect with you, our alumni families, and the annual Hawks 5K and Hawks Day Fall Festival is a great way to do just that. I know that I will be there this year to join in the fun and visit! The date for this year’s Hawks 5k Run and Fall Celebration is Saturday, October 22, 2022. Share in the joy of fitness, celebrate our Hawks spirit, and get some good food while you’re at it! Look for more details to come.
Please join me in praying for all students, teachers, priests and school staff in our diocese as we continue the tradition of providing a Christ-centered education for our children.
Peace,
Anne M. Dyke
Principal

Right before graduation, 8th graders Addie Buffaloe and Frannie Miller sat down with two St. Louis School alum who are now faculty at St. Louis School and Preschool! Judy Goebel Thomas (STL'79) is the 1st Grade Instructional Assistant and Bridget Faherty Flaaen (STL'98) teaches the Preschool 4's Zebra class. Both are also parents of St. Louis School alumni and current students. Each took time to share their memories from their time as students at St. Louis and how it compares to the school today.

Our recent graduates have participated in Student Council, the National Junior Honor Society, community theater programs, AAU athletic teams, and numerous regional service organizations. Several of our students were offered high school academic scholarships. While acknowledging the importance of academics, we continue to prepare our students for societal challenges, and we provide them with ongoing faith-filled activities and studies in both Catholic catechism and Catholic apologetics.

$83,000 Raised!
Summer definitely brings a change of pace to a school building. Summer projects are underway along with preparations for the year ahead. The 2021-2022 St. Louis Annual Fund Campaign generously raised funds to upgrade video surveillance cameras and the security system, purchase additional devices for students, and 25% was restricted to replacing the flooring throughout the building which we know is costly and will need to be completed in phases. We were also able once again provide tuition assistance for those families most in need. We were blessed to be able to continue with these necessary updates in facility, security and technology thanks to the help of current families, alumni and the entire community.
