From the School Nurse...
Please read the following excerpt from the Diocesan Wellness Coordinator regarding the recent outbreak of coronavirus in China:

“You are likely aware of reports of an evolving communicable disease outbreak in Wuhan, China. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is monitoring this outbreak and is implementing precautionary measures for travelers returning from the impacted areas in China. The Office of Catholic Schools is monitoring this situation and is following guidance provided by the CDC, Virginia Department of Health, and local health departments. At this time no restrictions on academic, operational, or extracurricular activities are advised. The CDC and local health departments deem the risk to the American public to be low; however, there are precautions we can take to prevent the spread of all communicable diseases.”

Please notify the school AND your local health department if you or any members of your household (including guests and exchange students) have recently traveled to the affected areas of China within the past two weeks. For more information about the novel coronavirus from the CDC, click here .
Flu activity remains high in Virginia. St. Louis has seen cases of both Flu A and Flu B this season. The same precautions that protect against the flu will protect you from coronavirus: frequent hand washing, covering your mouth when sneezing or coughing, getting 8-10 hrs of sleep at night, eating a balanced diet, and staying active. As with all communicable diseases, please stay home for 24 hrs after your symptoms have passed. Symptoms may include fever, body aches, chills, vomiting and diarrhea. To learn more about the flu, including prevention and treatment, click here .

Thank you for all your cooperation in keeping our community healthy!
