A Message from the Principal...
Dear St. Louis Families,

It's not Christmas yet, but the church was filled with joyous voices singing "Feliz Navidad" during our Lessons and Carols program on Thursday evening! We were even joined with a special drum accompaniment by Mr. Gerke and a saxophone accompaniment by Fr. O'Hare, which was an extra treat. It is a true blessing to watch our students share their gifts and talents to celebrate their faith, especially during the Advent season!

Next week is a full one - - we have an 11:30 dismissal on Friday, Dec. 21st, which is when Christmas Break begins! We look forward to our days with a tag day on Wednesday, Preschool Christmas Programs, classroom parties, and final assignments and projects before the holidays. Many blessings as you continue your preparations at home, enjoying family and friends.

I am pleased to share that we have hired an outstanding new member of our nursing team, Mrs. Christa Doherty, RN. She is a pediatric nurse with experience in pediatric clinical care, surgical care, and pediatric oncology, and she currently serves on INOVA Children’s Hospital’s Diabetes Education Committee. She lives with her family in Mt. Vernon and is so excited to join us in our St. Louis mission to keep our students centered on Jesus as they grow in His love. Mrs. Doherty will be in the clinic 4 days a week, and Laura Carlson will be in the clinic 1 day per week. While we will greatly miss having Mrs. Mitchell in our clinic, we are blessed to still have her here as an active parent and a sub for our nursing team! Her official last day as a regular in the clinic will be January 4th.

Peace,

Kathleen McNutt
Principal

A Message from the Librarian RE: Book Donations
I’m often asked if the school accepts book donations—we do! There are some limitations on what we will take, as well as particular titles and authors that I am overjoyed to receive. In order to give interested families all the information, I’ve created Donation Guidelines . Most of your book donation questions should be answered by this document, but if you have any additional questions, feel free to contact me at ekrut@stlouisschool.org .
