St. Louis Catholic School Newsletter
FEBRUARY 22, 2019
A Message from the Principal...
Dear St. Louis Families,

“Random” was a fitting word for our weather this week! We had a random storm mixed into a week that started with a holiday, but that didn’t stop our instructional activities, assessments or preparations for the Silent Auction. And with that in mind, I look forward to seeing many of you at the auction on Saturday night! I am so grateful to Meredith Jors, Kieran Mitchell, Gayla Keller and the entire Silent Auction team for their tremendous efforts to provide a fabulous evening of fun and fundraising. Many people have volunteered their time, energy and resources to give back to this school… which is one of the many things that makes St. Louis such a great community.

Next week brings the last week of February! Don’t forget to return your child(ren)’s re-registration form so that we hold their space for next school year. After March 1st, we will begin offering any open spaces to new families who would like to join us. We will finish February off with a little “jersey” fun with the student council sponsored Jersey Day on Thursday. What jersey will Mrs. McNutt wear? We’ll see if they guess it!

Kathleen McNutt
St. Louis Hawks Cheerleaders performed at the Winter Classic at Bishop Ireton on February 16th. Watch the video here .
Re-registration forms and fees for the 2019-20 school year are due by March 1st. You can find a copy of our re-registration letter and form here.

Extracurricular Activities & CYO
CYO Track
Track is back!  Despite the frigid weather, spring track is right around the corner. We plan to start practices in March and will have online sign-ups through SportsPilot up and running soon. Spring track will be a short season with the CYO spring track meet being held on May 18. All athletes in 3rd through 8th grade are welcome. No prior experience is necessary. This is a track and field competition so even if your athlete is not a strong runner, there are other events like long jump and javelin toss for your athlete. If you have any questions, you can email Brian Nienaber at
CYO Volleyball
It’s Almost Time for Volleyball ! Volleyball practice will begin on Wed., March 6th, from 6 to 8 pm, and we will host weekly practices at the same time until the season ends in late May. Students in grade 3-8 are eligible to play and we welcome boys and girls to learn and practice this sport, but CYO matches are only open to girls. Please see the flyer that was sent home in today’s folder and if your child interested in playing, please contact Coach Eugene Suwandhi at to sign up.
