A Message from the Principal...
Dear St. Louis Families,

This is a special weekend in the church as Pope Francis canonizes two new saints: Pope Paul VI and Archbishop Oscar Romero. We look forward to sharing this joy with students at assembly on Monday; and if your family is interested in more information, please go to the Vatican’s special events page at

We had our Student Council elections today! As I shared with all the student voters, it is quite a brave and humbling choice to run for office. I am proud of each one of the middle school students who chose to become a candidate and offer their services to the school community. We congratulate our new officers: President Samantha Rough, Vice President Travis Nienaber, Secretary Anna Martinez, Treasurer Jack Reeder and Parliamentarian Sam Keller. I look forward to working with them, the senators and the class representatives as they plan events and activities for the student body!

This coming week we have our annual Walk for the Homeless on Thursday, Oct. 18th at 10:00am. We walk and pray the rosary as an entire school community, praying for those who don't have homes in our community and throughout the world. If you would like to make a donation to United Community Ministries to help those in need, you may send in a check anytime next week and we will deliver the donations. Please know that you are welcome to walk with us that morning, and your children are allowed to wear sneakers to school that day, even if they don't have P.E.
One more reminder to book your calendar for Oct. 20th - the Hawks 5K and Hawks Day celebration!

Extracurricular & CYO
CYO Basketball
If your children are interested in CYO Basketball, please see this flyer and contact the coaches ASAP to express your interest. Practices will begin the week of October 29 th and games will begin on December 1. All are welcome to join a team – no tryouts necessary! If you wish to ask any questions or share any relevant information about your children with the CYO program, please feel free to reach out to Judy Conti at .
Third Grade Basketball Academy
The CYO program is excited to announce that we are going to pilot a clinic-based approach for our 3rd graders this year which will run from December through February. Instead of two practices a week, we would have only one and then host optional scrimmages on a number of Sunday afternoons in the winter in our own gym. The practices would all have a discussion component as well with the coaches engaging the kids in topics that relate to how their participation in sports is relevant to their development as a person. We have decided to institute this approach after a lot of discussion with experienced coaches, and we believe it will have many benefits for our young athletes and families. For more information, please read this flyer and if you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Judy Conti at .
